James Brown, Jackie Robinson, The Black Panther, I saw him in Draft Day and didn't recognize him as a cocky young college football player, he could be such a chameleon. Doing some of his greatest work when he was sick on his way to dying young, speaks volumes about his dedication and passion for his craft. Despite how short his short brilliant career was, his output will endure. He is going to leave the same kind of indelible mark on generations of actors that follow, much in the same way James Dean did when he died over 60 years ago. RIP Chadwick B.

@MrClassicmetal
@MrClassicmetal 4 жыл бұрын
@Dorothy Crawley That "free" hotel room and "free" food SHOULD be included. How else is the band going on tour? You go on tour to MAKE money not to SPEND money. If some big name artist wants to go on tour with a band he better make sure he can cover the cost. Because those musicians are in that line of business to earn money for their living, to pay their bills. Just like everybody else.

You have to understand the psychology of James Brown. You are witnessing a man who grew up in a segragated world majority of his life and was well aware of the cruelty and disrespect that black people had to endure. He was teaching discipline and self respect. I have not seen one interview of anybody who has worked with James Brown who didn't mention how working with James Brown helped them gain a sense of respect about themselves and a ton of professionalism, which they learned touring and rehearsing with him. HappyHalloween you must be a white guy! If you're not, somewhere down the line, you lost your soul, and you need James to help you get it back. I honestly say that because there is not a single black man in America who James Brown doesn't represent. So no black man and woman in America or across the world would ever utter those words out there mind because we understand in order to have Soul and produce the Funk, you need the joy and hardships that life brings. All I can say is if you haven't been through anything, you can't relate to Mr.Brown because he represents the oppressed and under privleged. Don't take my word for it, Go listen and study his catalog of albums. Not Just, I feel good, but all of his hits! James Brown was a Bad Mutha Shut Yo Mouth! Long Live the Godfather of Soul!!!!!

JB fired his classic 60s band b4 a concert in March 1970 not b4 a recording session. The "Papa don't take no mess" reference is wrong too. That song came out in '74 for a scrapped soundtrack for the sequel to the film "Black Caesar". LOTS of inaccuracies in this film. However, Chadwick did a great job playing JB I’m sure that wasn’t easy to do.

Ok so. I’ve worked on films and have worked on screenplays and scripts for many different films. When it comes to Biopics there is so much detail and story from a persons 70-80 year life that your trying to fit into a 2 1/3 - 3 hour movie. If you try to tell every story the way it happened your going to either lose the audience or run out of time. Sometimes for the film to make sense and push along you have to take creative liberty’s where situations are concerned. Not to mention most of the way things happened aren’t as exciting or dramatic as the film makes it seem. Remember the film is there to entertain you, but sometimes you need to have the story make sense for the sake of the character build up, or chemistry between characters. In my personal opinion biopics should be series, so there’s room to tell the story almost exactly how it happened with minor creative liberties that still make it entertaining.

If James came out today he would make his own beats, and would be ill.

He would probably only need a team of two-three guys today. He could do it all himself, but i dont think with his style of music he would.

it would've been a better scene had he said "you better GET ON UP! outta here!" and then he starts saying to himself "hmm, thats kinda catchy, get on up...." then the montage comes in where they start recording Get On Up even though it's already been recorded. oh wait, look at me, retelling my own jokes...

One thing though James Brown could sing and dance so good he could not still be tough but sensible.
