Learning to live for yourself will be the hardest hurdle to overcome. Yet it’s the most rewarding, learning what DOES make you happy might surprise you. Damn, does this song speak volumes. Growing up in Ohio as a working class kid it seemed there were 2 ways to escape the opioid epidemic... join the military, or OD. Sorry to those who feel I abandoned them, but I had to get alive. Coming home on weekends or on leave and trying to see old friends I grew up with, only to hear they were dead, in prison or so addicted they werent allowed back at their parents house. For everyone that made it out alive.... I'm proud of you. To the ones who couldnt...I never stopped loving you.

Trust me, I used to say i didn't want to leave it. It was what made me happy. And once I realized it was too much and literally eating my brain, I changed how I thought. Born 6 months apart and now 28 years old, we were inseparable. Cousins that should have been brothers. We were there through divorces, through, parents with brain tumors, through parents with drug addiction, through love and heartbreak, through depression and anxiety, now he has been so so far in to an heroin addiction that the inevitable is death. I will play this song for him on his day he leaves. Unfortunately he will not get out alive of what he’s going through. I love him so much. But the him that I love is not the him of who he is. I pray every day. But choices he has made are not the choices he should have. This song brings me multiple feelings of joy, sadness and frustration. Thank you for writing this song for your own feelings and emotions, because it has definitely helped me deal with with my own.

I'm really tempted to remaster this. The vocals are only on the left channel and guitar is on the right. You can easily fix this error by duplicating the track in your program of choice and reversing the channels. Export the 2-layered stereo track as a single file and it will play properly, with both vocals and guitar playing through each channel. (Each headphone/ speaker) Of course, you could play around with channel volumes and effects as well in the process.
