The military in the zone is only hostile to everyone to keep up appearances. In pripyat your a bloody military officer. Doing dealings with the other factions. I'm sure the mercs were only friendly because they were stuck there and didnt want a strike force coming in because they killed a GPS tracked spetsnaz squad. Some loners do dealings with the military like strelok. I didnt see them kill dutyers but that shouldn't have happened. Csn you give me s time stamp. And clear sky are allied with the ecologists so I'm sure the military have dealings with them

@@cee9110 It was on their briefing board that Duty was hostile. Don't know if they actually do fight any Duty boiz. Also in Call of Pripyat you are sneaky boi undercover, that is why you are neutral to everybody. Although the spetsnaz bois you are looking for are more chill with loners. Ecologists are neutral to pretty much everyone, but also they never encounter any Clear Sky guys. Your character in CS is a free agent, not a member of Clear Sky. Clear sky is technically neutral with the military, but they never encounter eachother in the game anyways. Since CS is all about being sneaky and stuff (or well, were until Scar came along) The military does do dealings with loners, but as a whole the two groups are hostile with each other. The mercs might well be the military's greatest enemy since they are working for an unknown foreign power (be it a government or a corporation, nobody knows) I haven't watched the whole vod yet, but they did say they were gonna engage a mercs checkpoint.

@@cee9110 The military do have orders to shoot on sight it's just they are generally bribed by the artifact smugglers to not upset the status quo. Loners are generally discouraged from dealing with the military due to their numerous offensives into the certain areas of the zone to wipe out all STALKERS. For example in CoP everyone basically flips their shit when they find out you're military and in SoC there is a massive military raid on a peaceful STALKER camp. Those that DO deal with the military are generally outcasts, the small number of STALKERS willing to assist is one of the reasons the military have so much trouble manuvering in the zone. Duty are obviously best mates with the military though obviously on the down low for the reasons above, created by disillusioned soldiers and stalkers with the same general mission as the army. Hell they even trade directly with the military which is one of the reasons they are so well equipped. Also from memory the Clear sky isn't exactly allied with the Ecologists, they just both want to study the zone through science and cooperate a bit on matters of research. Their alliance is more a mindset of Clear Sky going 'I want to protect scientists that can study the zone, so more research is done' Rather then the two having some sort of deal. Chances are the military know very little of the dealings between the two. I may seem ranty but I just love talking about STALKER politics. It's all very messy and I love it dearly.

I don't think many people have pointed this out yet, but I loved Rimmy's RP'ing in this one! I honestly think he could do serious voice acting work after seeing a lot of his videos. He played the role of the morally questionable, professional commander very well. The way he spoke, the minor quirks in his voice and wording, how he addressed and commanded his unit with both familiarity and discipline. The kind of character who is charismatic in an honest way, deals straightly and bluntly with others, and cares for his men, yet at the same time you wonder how quickly they can order their unit to gun you down the moment your goals no longer align. The makings of a very interesting villain, or a compelling side-character!
