Nice one Izack 🤙🏽. We listen to Clive Holland the part timer Monday to Thursday 😆. Expansion foam has a strip down its length, build it on flush and make sure it’s on the face . When the jobs complete tear off the strip and run your mastic joint up it 🤙🏽. Learnt that in the KZbin comments 😁🧱👍🏼

Always enjoyed having a keen apprentice, watching them learn and grow is very rewarding. I have 2 friends that cut their teeth under me that now run very successful businesses. So proud to have played a small part in their journey. Drew will be a terrific bricky under your guidance. Nice to see you in my home town of London.

I’ve just discovered your channel and have been binge watching for a couple of days , I’m not a bricklayer myself I’m a metal worker and have had to fit to new brick work on many occasions and have observed what can only be described as questionable brickwork but watching you and Drew I’m obviously watching real craftsmen at work , I might even tackle the the small brickwork step up to my cabin but I appreciate its not as easy as you make it look , keep posting and I’ll keep watching Izzy 👍🧱

Awesome as always, the fixings your using into the steel column, are you having to pilot drill first? What fixings do you use?
@MaxRank
@MaxRank Жыл бұрын
Don’t know about the Brickies, but as a chippy I would pre drill and use a self tapper to fix these. Before health and safety went wild we would fix timber to steels with the Hilti pump and shoot. Now I think you need to go on a course and dance a jig to use one on site.

👍 just curious, how long since planning as gathered its 100mm cavity with concrete blocks. Why ever dont you use lighter blocks?
@kurtthomsen9872
@kurtthomsen9872 6 ай бұрын
Hi Izzy, as a danish craftsman and architect I am wondering. Can you "only" do a half block lay? Don't get me wrong, your work is very very good. I just think that it must get booring working from one lay format all the time.. Any thoughts? I'll happily invite you over to show you a whole array of other lay formats that we use here. Thanks however for a good channel. Brgds Kurt E.

Hiya mate! Most of the time here in the UK it's half bond/halfblock. There are other ways, but it's very rare we do it. I'd love to see some examples of what you guys do over there😊 all the best, hope your well!

How do you make sure on a large gable end such as this that the corners are in line with each other and are level to each other if it's such a massive spance...sorry not a brick layer or builder
@markrichardson5295

Quick question. You empty the mixer into the tub not a Barrow. I've never used tubs so what's the advantage. If I empty into a Barrow I could move into the shade or near the bottom of a ladder so Can't see the advantage of a tub

If cavity-wall insulation is to be used IN CONSTRUCTON OF THE CAVITY-WALL FROM THE VERY START ; there must be a LARGE air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the outer wall inside the cavity ; this includes an air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the cavity-wall-tie drip point(which is in the centre of the cavity). Ask N.V.Q. City & Guilds BRICKWORK teachers for PROOF of this !
