Absolutely no issues. Like anywhere, there are always a few bad eggs, but in all the times we've visited... everyone, and I mean everyone, has always been very nice. Enjoy your visit!

I'm someone who's lived here for my whole life (22 Y/O) and everyone is brother and sister here. You'll find some mean-ass people everywhere in the USA, but I promise you don't have to worry about racial issues here! Respect is key in Florence, AL. I remember playing Tupac in my car (not intentional), looking over and a kind black man (not important, described due to the subject) was giving me the thumbs up and nodding his head with me! We love all.

Florence is a very moderate city in terms of political viewpoint, especially for Alabama. Pretty sure the progressive medicinal weed bill had the biggest sponsor from here! As an old gen-z I look forward to the development of this state, mainly because we have a lot of religion that blocks that path towards basic progression like marijuana laws or lotteries. The future looks bright for Alabama!

Just be weary of Cullman AL. Tbh Cullman is getting better but it has the reputation it has for a reason. Hell that racist website Stormfront (that I'm pretty sure has been taken down a million times now and you probably won't be able to find) created by Don Black and endorsed by David Duke had a HQ in Cullman. Florence ain't a bad city I'm from there. For the most part, it's one of those places where if someone does hold a racist sentiment they will try their damndest to be covert about it and you might just experience microaggression. Florence got a lot of good black people too. It's a safe city.

@@Julio-zl7yk indeed, it was expensive and is now just another empty store front which is always a bit sad. They went out of business a few weeks ago.
