Great video! I've been doing these with tube style bands but tomorrow I will try loops with the Clench handles.

I have loadable dumbbells and I use the bar as a handle. It's easier on a grip once the band starts cutting in to your palms. Can use anything straight, piece of wood, tube, etc.

wouldn't the pull down cross over also engage the shldr musles?

Not really, when performed correctly you should feel the most activation in the triceps.
