Lauri Törni might be the only Waffen SS soldier buries in Arlington. Can't be to many solder going from the Finnish army to the German Waffen SS during the second world war and then end up serving as a Green Barets. He did not care about the Third Reich ideology, He just did not like the Soviet Union.

@@ethansvenbasalo8850 yes, and just the fact that his hometown of Vyborg was lost to the Soviet Union in the winter war is a good reason to dislike them.

There were quite a few Finnish officers who ended up in the US SF and greatly influenced on how the Green Berets were set up and how US Winter Training is conducted. Men like Marttina and Alakulppi.

Some people say that Larry (Lauri Törni) Thorne never died. He was in fact deep frozen deep in the Cheyenne mountain with NORAD with an emergency thawing button that reads "In the case of a communist uprising, break glass". Dude literally made a deal with the devil (Fighting with a Waffen SS unit) to fight communists and even after that war ended he sought to kill more communists with the Green Berets in Vietnam. He even escaped from prison multiple times to do all this. His medals and rank were revoked temporarily as he was labelled (Due to Soviet pressure) as a traitor to the Finnish government, but they were both restored later after the Soviet pressure ended and he's now remembered as a hero, not a traitor.

No one hated communism more than he did. He fought in 3 armies against it.

maybe you should react to actual history video to hear his story, how he became to be and how he really was, what he was about.

Odd fact though not his fault his side lost every major war he fought in. The finnish lost both the winter(though people often think they won the winter war they didnt) and continuation war, the germans off course lost in ww2, and the US lost in Vietnam.
