If i recall, the cold was so intense that they actually found dead ru soldiers still standing up, after, as said in the song, a slice of the knife. The winter was the Finns best companion.

Both my grandfather's were in war at Karelian isthmus. On mother side the family was from Karelia. Grandfather told that the winter was one of the coldest in human memory. -40°C ,and many Russian froze in the position they were killed. It must of been horrible ,but you had to defend your country from invading Russian.

The chorus depicts quite well our situation in Winter War 1939-1940 and the Continuation War 1941-1944. It was David Vs. Goliath -fight. Simo Häyhä, The White Death + 31 others of us Finns faced an assault of 4000 Soviet Troops during 3 months. The End Results: A "Technical" success for Soviets, but with embarrasingly snorty way. With eyesoring pain, they lost 1 quarter of their entire army againts a nation size of s/&%¤ fly, putting them on the map with seriously tarnished image, making them look like a paper tiger for nazis and gaining them a piece of land barely big enough to be cemetary to their fallen. Talk about eternal embarrasment, profane and shame!

@@andrewludwig9251 No lmaaoo. NATO countries are forced to help Ukraine, a country that's not a member and supposedly neutral. A country that they used for decades as a proxy to provoke Russia repeatedly and act is if nothing happened. NATO shouldn't even have involved their little finger in Ukraine, but of course that would have actually prevented the war and that's not what they want.

This wasn't my favorite Sabaton song. I feel like they have much better stuff and can do better. The chorus really didn't speak to me. I feel like Brothers of Metal is majorly shafted by the metal react community, and I have no idea why. They have a great theme, great vocalists, and solid overall music. I know everyone did one reaction, but it wasn't even their best song at the time, and now from what we see from their new album, people should really be turned on to it. Hopefully someone sees this and does a reaction to one of their really good songs, because they really are among the heavy hitters in the power metal scene, and they don't get the recognition they deserve.
