Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
Hypothetical Performance Disclosure: Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.

The only thing you can do is make sure you're ready and plan accordingly because recessions are a natural part of the economic cycle. I began my career during a recession (2009). Aerial acrobatics on cruise ships was my first job out of college. I've developed my own business, am a vice president at a large corporation, own three rental homes, invest in stocks and businesses, and have seen a growth in my net worth of two million dollars over the past four years.

Let's face it, increasing stock and index fund purchases during downturns and bear markets is unnerving. Which makes it very difficult for most people, like me, to do. It's challenging to incur the risk of investing the one million dollars that I have in an S&S.

You are quite correct; they can have a significant impact on a person's portfolio. My first financial advisor for trusts was Camille Alicia Garcia. Her work ethic is acceptable according to the US Investment Act of 1940, and she is verifiable. Her open-book approach lets me completely own and control my portfolio while maintaining very low costs in comparison to the returns on my investment.

Anyone blaming 17-year-olds for doing exactly what they were told to do by society and middle class parents/teachers/communities (going to University) in the only way that was accessible to them should maybe consider why it costs the same for a public education as it does to purchase a small house. I worked overnights all thru college and it only covered a small portion of my 1/3 share of an apartment, maintenance and gas for my old used car needed at my second hustle (early version of post mates), a portion of moderately healthy groceries, and basically no social life. What I couldn’t cover from a job and a side gig plus tuition was covered by loans. All while fully enrolled w/ a loaded class schedule and hours of homework. Maybe look at the system taking advantage of teenagers.

@@simba720 Stop! What is the difference between college and the military? Very little! Both can indoctrinate you. Also, Veterans receive very little compensation in comparison to the physical and mental damage. Hence why military recruiters target high schoolers to get able bodies and young minds, the same as Colleges.I pass many veteran panhandling on the freeway. Both are two wings on the same bird. College prepares you to work for a rich man and the military prepares you to fight a rich man wars. You have been taught that you owe your life in order to have an education( indoctrination again). I paid my student loans off during the pandemic ($62,000) because I thought that 0% interest was as good as it was going to get. I’m glad I did. I did not apply for a refund because that would put me back into student loan debt if the Republican Supreme Court strikes it down. I’m 100% consumer debt free ( no car notes, no credit cards debt, etc) and I want to stay that way. I can now build up my savings. Debt free life feels better even with inflation. 🤷🏽‍♀️

My credit score is 806 right now and I’ve never paid even one dime of interest 😀which is very cool.I have an emergency fund, I’m working on 6 months right now. So when something happens like the car breaks down, I pay with my credit card and then use the emergency fund to pay it off the next week. This recession is most likely the result of an external factor. For the first time in decades, the United States is losing its clout as a federal reserve currency. They don't have any more economies to use to control inflation, and less money is being spent on stock and oil trading than in the past. They all lend support to the idea that a new multilateral world order is in the works.

Sure, fair. But also i think the older generations need more compassion to the fact that higher education was shoved down millenial and gen zs throats for the last few decades. We are the first generations to have to take on so much debt just to get into a decent job. The job market has shifted drastically and it makes me so angry that older generations cant be empathetic to how difficult things have become for younger gens. Blaming doesnt work, we all do the best we can with the information we have. I have 8 years of higher education, did everything right, im paying off my loans and about to get a house... but ive had to bust my ass to get here

@@Corrinaxox a lot of the Gen Z that went into higher education and took those loans were hiding from the working world. They wanted 7 figure jobs where they don’t do anything (Facebook, Twitter, etc) so instead of learning a trade or working, they took loans expecting money to rain down upon them. Most of Gen Z is out of touch with reality and doesn’t have any accountability for their actions; they voted in a crook that promised to take away the loans instead of making them pay it back like the bad orange man, and this is the result.

I plan to do it again as Great Recessions bring Black Friday sales on investments and assets. Macroeconomic concepts are more complicated than two sentences. But I get why simpleton college dropouts want to cling to those ideas. I’ll take this “recession” with 3.5% unemployment over the economic collapse recessions that Republicans cause where we lose 10-20 million jobs in less than a year like 2020 and 2008.

@katwilliams2950

So you think that the level of inflation to wage growth is sustainable? Tbh we have hit the criteria for 2 consecutive quarters going down. That was the definition of a recession up until last year when they didn't want people to panic so they changed the rules. 😂 Plus all the money that was printed funneled upwards, not continually distributed amongst the population. The amount of debt is basically triple what we had in 08 and I think the amount from the failing banks in the 2.5 months of 2023 is equal to the total amount of 08...we still have 10mo to go. 😄 Also, no matter what happens, it's good practice to always be ready for a rainy day whether that's personal, or the entire economy. It's reckless.
