The American dream of homeownership is fading. I believe housing prices will keep rising in the coming years. Unfortunately, many Americans can no longer afford to buy a house and will have to rent for the rest of their lives. So, if you can afford to buy now, seize the opportunity before home ownership becomes out of reach.

You touched on something significant - the housing market being tied to the employment picture. I don't buy the media's explanation that the 2006 crash was due to loose lending. I believe that it was due to massive offshoring of US jobs and the corrupt media blamed it on lenders instead to hide the real cause.

The increase in price drops could be due to sellers being way too optimistic with their pricing. I've never seen so many homes where sellers over-ask and eventually pull their listings. I think the percentage of not-serious sellers is at an all-time high.

To my own research In USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

Agreed. The real reason for the rate cut isn’t inflation being under control (the inflation is still going wild!). It is because the job market is declining- marking a declining economy.

If inflation continues to re-accelerate, don't you think they will be forced to increase interest rates? It's not like they have the option to just stand back and watch it increase and hope it comes back down. They indicated they will act not just if it does not re-accelerate but if it does not demonstrate, it is actively on the way down to 2%, so the likelihood of an interest rate hike seems very significant. There's nothing to naturally bring inflation down at this point unless the labor market implodes.......currently I've been engaged in active trading, which is generally safer, allowing investors to weather market volatility and also managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

This is a really interesting take on the housing market. People are being Impacted by the long-term decline in property prices and the housing market. investors are extra cautious right now. They want to make sure they’re getting a good deal given how much mortgage payments have gone up, and when they don’t feel like they’re getting a good deal, they’re backing out, so definitely looking elsewhere is a necessity.

In my opinion, home prices will need to fall by at least 40% before the market normalizes. If you're unsure if to buy a house or not, it is best you seek guidance from a well-experienced advisor for proper portfolio allocation. So far, that’s how I’ve stayed afloat over 5 years now, amassing nearly $1m in ROI.

Prices are already decreasing in some markets, that trend will continue to spread. Rates will be coming down over the next 24 months. As a first time buyer using this money you will NOT be able to refinance for the lower rate because you will not have 15k of equity that will need to be paid at the time of refi. As rates drop, so will home values. I hope this makes sense

Back in the day, when I purchased my first home to live-in; that was Miami in the early 1990s, first mortgages with rates of 8 to 9% and 9% to 10% were typical. People will have to accept the possibility that we won't ever return to 3%. If sellers must sell, home prices will have to decline, and lower evaluations will follow. Pretty sure I'm not alone in my chain of thoughts.
