I loooovvveee making floral personal arrangements for family and friends. I read a book called The Language of Flowers and it got me really interested in the meaning of flowers and trying to communicate certain feelings with arrangements. Of course, always need the greens.

I live in Hawaii and dream of flower marts like that every dang day. So jelly! Those peachy flowers are ranunculus (one of my faves)! To send you down another creative rabbit hole you should look into the Victorian languge of flowers. People used to send each other messages through bouquets and its actually really cool!

The flowers and greenery you got are peonies (dark red/maroon color), ranunculus (peach color), calla lilies, snow berries, eucalyptus and ti leaves (used for covering the wet foam). beautiful selection and use of their shapes/colors!! 😍

Wish I could have given you this list before meeting the in laws so you look very impressive 😂 In order: Ranunculus, hypericum, calla lily, peony, eucalyptus & aspidistra leaf. I went to school for interior design & I found it a hard career to get into without starting my own business first. I wanted experience before putting my name on my work. Then discovered that floral work uses the same techniques I love about interior design. Colour matching & composition! I’ve been a florist for 4 years & love it. (Besides not getting to fully enjoy holidays because it’s the busiest time) lol

It is like a lot of words, it depends where you are from as to how the word is pronounced. I have heard a lot of Americans pronounce it the same way she did. Next they will be telling her she pronounces aluminum wrong.

About the flowerfoam: you don't want to douce(???? sorry for my spelling, I'm Dutch, that's my excuse) them, you need them to float in a big bowl of water and have them suck the water up. If you douce (again, sorry, I don't know how spell) them, you create a block with a pocket of air. It looks wet, but it 'll only be on the outside.
