I’m also applying to schools for kinesiology, just be aware jobs with a bachelors in kinesiology are limited. Spending 3 years after to get a Doctorate of physical therapy(DPT) will allow for more careers. Anyways, more power to you and good luck.

I think you're right about it being a strength issue but I think it could come from anywhere. If your lacking in any one area such as core, glutes, hip flexors, then this is more likely to happen. I would like to include the neurological aspect of doing the motion in a focused way. There is a great degree of strength lost if you don't focus on using proper form the entire way through.

I’m in therapy now for bad knees after weight training for a year as a newbie and my glute max and med were too weak so my adductors and knees where overcompensating causing that pain during exercise and after. My feet positioning were also not helping since I have no arc so I have also been working on my tripod stance which has helped my posture as well.

what's even more crazy to me is that most people lifting heavy weight seriously lack body awareness. Another example : I'm a gardener and have to explain to newbies how to properly use a shovel by thinking about THE BODY and correct stance in space and not the TOOL so they can finish the day fresh and not exhausted. I've seen a man with ten years of experience complaining about his back and lifting 40 kgs shrubs "by doing a jefferson curl" and never use his legs. Same guy also asked me how I can work 40 hours per week on awkward terrain with a 2/3mm sole vivobarefoot shoe... while they wear 2 kgs boots. Attention to details is everything. Be water. Nice short, doc.

@@kuriouskoopatroopa3129ell does your knee cave in excessively? If so, chances are you do have an unbalanced foot. So now you know, no bands needed to test this. If you’re still unsure, just film yourself doing a rep and that should show you all you need to know. The bands are just good for illustrating the problem-and the solution. But they’re not necessary.
