Nice one Mitch. It was great to listen to this on the way to work this morning as it wasn't visually heavy. Don't get me wrong I love the visually heavy stuff like the time lapses, but this was great to listen to while I was driving. You both actually have very nice voice to listen to which a lot on youtube don't. More of this please :).

They should make a grow light that's programmed to specific plants, for example peppers would have a certain brightness and length of time, or for others low light and shorter periods of light time

Can we get DWC vs Kratky video please, is that the one in background of this video ?

Great video, both channels have provided a wealth of knowledge in my search for answers. After learning about par and umols etc etc in my very young and early assessments of my own grows have found that the smaller quality lights are the answer. I have a large expensive light and for the price wish i bought 3 more smaller lights to get more spread. But, that being said, i am a tinkerer and don’t mind making a few mistakes to learn along the way. The subject is vast, but further discussion on a specific lighting setup based on a plant would be super cool. Eg. Lettuce, or whatever people most want to see. As a newbie, something I’m working through at the moment is the importance of steps taken at specific times. As a pretty hap hazard gardener, i get away with murder in the garden and have plenty of luck. A bit of a conundrum i came across recently, is specifics around nutrient requirements as seedlings and what exactly staging up the nutrients looks like through the plant life cycle. It might sound simple, but its one of those things, you dont know what you dont know. Hence my reference to being lucky in the garden. I am quickly realising a few mistakes which is driving a pretty fast learning curve, but it might be something a newbie could avoid with the right information. Also, thank you for replying to my email. Happy Hydroponic ing!

could you use a regular led strip light with 50/50 led to light lettuce and other leafy greens and have good results?

Thanks for the video! Since red+blue is more efficient for growing (afaik) Is there a good reason to use white light over Red+Blue other than "appearance"?

@hoocho What has been the result with using only 4000K lamps? There were good results with germination but i am curious what it does with plants that produce fruit?

Man I really want to go with a Migro Aray 4 but getting it to Canada seems next to impossible for a reasonable price.

The power consumption can be deduced from the heater in winter but at some point a decent ventilation system will be needed, it's easy to grow spores and bacteria, i did it with a just few strawberries :c Also i don't totally agree with what Shane said about the light spectrum, but only for people with higher expectations - some people can have already some experience outdoor; those will notice that warmer lights will grow longer nodes, on small trees for ex, and that the c4 ones might perform better with colder lights. If it can help any fellow grower

When one of those fancy grow lights dies, I couldn't fix it if you gave me $500. That's why I now assemble all my lights for plants or for photography from components that I can cheaply and easily replace myself should the light stop working.

Hi, Apologies if we missed your emails. We answer all emails received within 1 working day. We also have a chat box on the website which we are on daily. We may miss one very occasionally but not three. I suspect the email address was incorrect or our email server thought they were spam.

So why does growing cannabis need so much more energy then?

Creating flowers fruits and seeds (as well as leaves) requires more energy than leaves alone.

Hello Mitchell, everything is ok I hope. I tried to reach you via messenger, via email, but no response, so I thought I'd go this way. I have 3 messages hanging in the FB group. Awaiting approval. Why wait where it was automatic before, I have no idea. For example, I have not said or done anything not done. There is even a message from April 28, 2024 that is awaiting approval. Greetings and keep on hooching, Denis
