I reappropriated your float valve system by using wet tissue boxes. They work perfectly to house the float valves.

I really love when you find accessible methods to simplify these systems. The milk carton float valve is ingenious! It's simple, accessible and helps slow the eventual march of plastics into the landfill. I love it! Reuse and reduce are often the most over looked part of the 'reduce, reuse & recycle' slogan. Also, where can we find kiddy pools like that? They look to be perfect fpr this application.

Not sure if it's the exact pool he's using, but Bunnings seems to supply something very similar looking called "Fountain Products 880 x 880 x 220mm Green Deluxe Sandpit" for $22. Well, at least in stores near me

My experience is that algae creates its own layer barely effecting the solution unless it’s a massive surface area

You can also use a tupperware container. Paint it black, to prevent algee. Youll probably need a bigger bottom container. I'm thinking of making a bucket with a tupperware attatched to the bottom side using epoxy. You wont need a bottom container.

Hello Mr. Hoocho. I am a 76 year old women who has wanted a rail grow system for a few years. i now just the Ball Jars, which I like. I still wanted the rail system. Well, I finally got three 2 ft ones. Guess what, I cant get any endcaps for them. Now I am on a three year hunt for them. Do you sell them, or could tell me where I could get them today. ( 9-13-23) Already tried World Grace. Last point.....Most people don't have a 3D printer. Thank you

Your system uses a LOT of water hoses. Before I invest into a lot of water hoses, would it be advisable to use alternative tubing or water transmission methods? I bet that aquarium safe tubing would be affordable for the amount of length and splits needed.

I made one like that but out of wood. Everything grew great. but Pics took over. It is 8' long and 15" wide. I didn't use it this season. I don't have room or energy to clean it. I Installed a liner and I might use it for DWC next year. Space is a premium. Depends of the spring. I had over 15 homemade Pots growing various lettuces which the apartment manager quickly assaulted with Round UP ! It doesn't matter how many weeds I pull... the round UP or worse come always comes out. I get tired of trying to grow food while this idiot tries to kill everything that isn't grass!

I was using a mixture of soil (a popular potting mix) and coco. The results were atrocious. To the point that I gave up on the idea completely.

That looks like PLA plastic and from my experience it sucks for outdoor use. Might want to look for other types of plastic. Maybe PETG
