Pro Tip for finding cheap and great film cameras: Look for the early Canon Eos cameras (the ones without "D" in the name) or something like a Fuji F80 Those cameras have autofocus, Lightmeters, auto- and semi-auto modes like today's cameras, they also feature Ef or F-mount bayonet, which means you can still buy brand new lenses for them. Plus, they're super cheap on ebay, since they are not as "cool" as those "hipster-type" cameras like the Minolta or the Canon A-series or Voigtländer.

Love film so much!!! Hate how it’s becoming “trendy” to shoot film cause now these cameras/developing is going up in prices. But awesome video! Love it!!!
@fcallophoto4 жыл бұрын
It's not because of that. Higher the demand, lower the offer so that doesn't make any sense. Film industry is becoming expensive for two reasons: 1)Not many companies investing on it, so it's kind of niche (Yes, I know there are a lot of companies producing new film and even Kodak bringing some of them back but still it's nothing compared to digital) and 2)Producing film nowadays it's expensive because the formula had to change in order to avoid being toxic or dangerous so they have to use newer materials which cost more money.
@keimahane4 жыл бұрын
@@fcallophoto Film Cameras have gone up in price, there is no doubt about it. I have watched the prices constantly climb over the last 5 years. I bought a mint Nikon FM2 with 50mm/1.4 for $125 about 8 years ago. Last week I saw the same camera, body only, in same shop priced at $340, it is not in mint condition. F3s are also priced way too high these days. As for film and chemicals, you are right, they are slowly becoming more available and coming down in price, which is great.
@joejoe4games4 жыл бұрын
@@keimahane 125$ for a Nikon 50mm 1.4 is a decent price on its own, the camera is just the cherry on top... Unless you're looking for a specific model of film camera you can pretty much get them for the price of the lens they are sold with. I just got lucky with a 20mm 2.8 and an Nikon F-801 (together with 2 more old Zoom lenses, a camera bag and a few rolls of expired film) for 160€ again: the price is pretty good for the lens on its own and the camera is just a nice bonus.

Takumar 35mm 3.5 , Takumar 50mm1.4 Radioactive lens , and 135mm 3.5 all with caps and hoods. All work fine on my DSLRS Maybe I 'll give it a try

Having shot film for many years, I can tell by this video a younger generation of shooters pick 35mm cams with auto & programmed settings. The best way to learn analog photography is to use fully manual SLRs and some B&W film. Using fully manual cams like Canon Ftb, Minolta SRT101, Pentax Spotmatic or K1000, there is no microchip to help you. You read the meter and dial in that combo of aperture & shutter speed. When people pick up a Minolta X700 or Canon AE1, which are good cams, they can bypass the learning experience of full manual shooting. All 35mm cams will get you to some point, but setting an example for others should ideally involve fully manual cams. All work but this is about setting an example too. Best of luck and have fun.

Since you and many other people on Instagram just love to shoot film, I wanted to give it a try. But I have to say, I don't know what all the fuss is about. Colours don't look good, especially not on a point and shoot and I think the overall results of digital photography are way superior. At least for my style.
@thomascharleston40454 жыл бұрын
derVlogdahalt It also depends on how you expose, how you scan the film, and also how it’s developed. It’s a lot of stuff to go through rather than digital to receive good results but once you get it right, the results can be beautiful. And yeah point and shoots you really have no control on anything which can be annoying compared to digital and other film cameras in which you have more control.
