@phil49606 жыл бұрын
As a new pilot who has looked at every 2 Pro KZbin video so far, yours is heads above anyone else's. I've been afraid to even fly my drone yet, but after your video, I have much more confidence. Very professional. Your videos should be used by DJI on their website. Thanks Ed!

Yeah, they really should use his videos. But I see they prefere splitting the information on different videos.

I'm another new pilot (other than messing with Toy drones) that really had no idea on how to fly my newly purchased Mavic 2 Zoom drone, but after watching both Part 1 and Part 2 of your videos (several times over), I am finally up and running. I almost followed them exactly (but I'm still in the "Beginner setting"), constantly stopping the videos to make your recommended setting adjustments! Without these videos, I would have been completely Lost! THANK YOU!!!

Taking a moment to echo the sentiments of other commenters. As the new owner of a Mavic 2 Pro (and first time drone owner / pilot for that matter), your channel has been an incredible resource for me. From pre purchase, to purchase, setup and ultimately first flight, your videos have helped me feel more confident in my choices and helped settle my nerves as to what I should expect. I look forward to more content.

Hi Rick, thanks for a brilliant step by step walkthrough. It’s been a while since I set up my MP 1 and I’m getting the MP 2 for Christmas, I can use these 2 tutorials as a double check to make sure I don’t miss anything in my enthusiasm to get airborne. As a side note I was really pleased you clarified where you position the FAA reg details. I’m going to Alaska next year and have registered but found the Dynatape strips keep pealing away from where I had them as I thought they had to be visible. Under the battery is great. Thanks again, take care and catch you later. Peter

Hello thanks for the detailed video it is very helpful indeed 🙏👍 I wonder though is it mandatory to do an IMU calibration of the drone just out of the box and before the very first flight? Since I was thinking to make only a compass calibration outside the field and only in case I realize any deviations or other abnormalities of the quad then to proceed with IMU calibration at home. The same also for gimbal calibration. What's your opinion about it? Thanks in advance!
@EdRickerVlogs2 жыл бұрын
I think you're correct, you don't need to update the IMU unless there's something wrong with your aircraft. It should come calibrated normally out of the box. Sometimes I calibrate mine just to be sure, but it shouldn't be required.
@vcdroneGR2 жыл бұрын
@@EdRickerVlogs Thanks for replying sir🙏 So I might try IMU calibration and gimbal calibration if only I notice anything wrong with them after flying the aircraft. But the compass calibration is necessary of course especially for the first time due to the new location after doing that in the factory. Do you believe that the compass calibration affects the IMU though?

Hello from 🇺🇸Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🇺🇸 I have both Phantom 4Pro with 5 batteries 🔋 & Mavic Pro with 3 batteries , 🔋 The Mavic Pro I pretty much take everywhere when I’m Jetskiing or riding around on both of my motorcycles 🏍🇺🇸🛵 cause the Mavic pro is small enough to fit inside both of my compartments on my Big Boy Toys ,If I’m not taking my Woman 👩 with me I always take my Phantom 4Pro plus and can put it on my back seat 😎 My question is should I upgrade and get the Mavic Pro 2 with fly more kit $1900.00 or keep what I have ?

For SD cards I recommend a V90 rather than a V30 -- especially if you have a fast camera recoding high-res video. You need a Write speed of approx 100 MB/s - anything slower increases the risk to lose frames in your video recordings.

Awesome info! 2 questions, (1) what video software do you use for processing your videos?, (2) can you use the FAA # from an old drone ? Thanks
@EdRickerVlogs5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit. As a recreational flyer you get one pilot # from the FAA that you put on all your recreational drones. As a commercial flyer, each individual drone has a unique # that cannot be traded between drones since they're based on serial numbers.
