Buzzards on the Road You can see just fine but the drone loses signal with your remote and stops in place and Then regains spotty signal until you get it back closer. Scary though that it never triggered RTH which now makes make me nervous to ever use the goggles even after they hopefully fix the issue.

@@thomaswindfeld728 I was very happy with it until I sold everything couple months ago because I got fed up of all the new govt regulations. As soon as they get the mavic mini ( less than the 250g govt regs unaffected) to work with some fpv goggles I will buy again. To answer your question as I recall you just tap on the side of the goggles to focus, but I rarely needed to do it.

FYI - when you link the old white goggles you are limited to 2.4 even between your controller and the aircraft. I found it much easier just to plug the goggles straight into the Smat Controller HDMI if you have one then you will still have 5.8 and 2.4.

You have to the controller connected to the drone before you bind the goggles. The Sdcard slot on the original goggles doesn't record from the goggles, it only lets you play back videos from the drone IF NO HIGHER RESOLUTION than 1080p/30fps. It can't play 2.7k or 4k. It also changes the resolution on the drone itself. If you want the drone to stay 4k, you have to use your phone/ tablet to change the video settings back to what you want.

Or am I just wasting money getting nearly the same set but with analog and a little less latency? if you had to do it again, would you end up with both the normal white dji goggles and the dji RE goggles? I'm thinking about ordering a Mavic Zoom. I'm also considering whether or not to purchase the goggles. The problem being is that I was the youngest person in California to have had cataract surgery some 30 odd yrs ago. Although I can now 'see' quite well, the diopter implants left me with no ability to 'focus' on what I'm looking at. Do you happen to know or where I can find out if I can effectively use these goggles? The sad thing is that where I live, no one has a pair set up that I can try. Any knowledge along this line would be much appreciated. Thx.

Hey Kelly, do you know if the RE's are better for the Mavic 2 series? If i use the white goggles it locks my RC frequency to 2.4 (ocusync 1) even if I don't use the googles and that shortens my range quite a bit. Fun video, will definitely try out my RE Googles with my M2P later this year (haven´t got one yet 😳). Love flying with the googles on the original, such a great experience! What I missing in this video...with the new Mavic 2 and all. Headtrack comparison between the white and RE-googles? Hearing stuff that there is a limitation on gimbal movement on the white ones? That aside thanks for the video and thumbs up from Sweden

Thanks for the vid. I know you can't get a camera inside to show the eyeball view, but I wasn't sure about whether I could link my RE Goggles to my M2P. Glad you walked through this.

Thanks for the video! Update I hear the RE Version problem has been fixed. You need to ensure you have manufactured date after feb 19. So I would buy only March or after just be safe. All you previous version owners should be bitching to high heaven now.

How far did you fly? I’ve been having range issues when using goggles re. Also I noticed you had the mushroom antenn on. Theoretically that should only be necessary when using without ocusync. And do you experience light leak? Because I have a ton of light leak on both sides; granted I do have a narrow face but I was just curious.

Hey Alex - Thanks for the comment. Here are some answers. 1 The way to get around the limited range issue is to start your drone up with the phone, then switch over to the goggles. If you do that, your range should not be limited. 2 Mushroom antenna is for the 5.8Ghz analog signal for FPV racers. It was not needed for the Mavic, but I had it on anyway. 3. I have a pretty fat face, so no issue with light leak. I'm sure you could fix that with some cloth. Thanks!

Awesome thanks for the tips. So you are saying link up the controller and drone as usual, then turn the goggles on after?

I have had the same range issue.. when using the RE with the phone connected first my video becomes choppy and cuts out after a few hundred feet when compared to just phone and controller alone. I would have to turn the goggles power off to regain video and signal on my iOS device. Because of this I hardly use the re goggles. Seems to be good for quick close by inspection but does not hold up to the same range experience with just phone and controllers. Also was told the antennas are not needed for Mavic 2 pro. Would like to see someone actually test the range out with re goggles and Mav 2. This may be an issue hopefully can be corrected with firmware - at this time if I had a do over would not have choose to get the goggles.. bit disappointing.

Very helpful, thanks, can you use the Dji smart controller with the goggles?

If you have a smart controller you don't really need the goggles do you?
@azspotfree
@azspotfree 4 жыл бұрын
@@Chris-fj9ir Yeah, the goggles are like being on board of the thing. Once you fly with the goggles you won't want to fly with anything else. The smart controller is still nice to have though for some circumstances

@@azspotfree Yeah, but with the goggles you can't see where you fly, until ...... a big tree or something big appear suddenly and crash.

Great video Kelly. I kinda wish I had the both Mavic 2 Zoom and the goggles. Thanks for letting everybody know that it does work. I wish I had more time to watch everyone’s videos, but I’m barely keeping up with my week days Vlogging lol. Thanks for sharing. Also not sure if I thanked you already but thanks again for your part in Jim Hightower’s video y’all did for me. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😉

Will the gimbal move as you move your head movement?

Joseph Park yes. You can set it to “head tracking gimbal” or “head tracking flight”, which actually controls the drone with your head. Fun stuff
