Comment below what ECU you run on your Honda 450 RL.

I have this TacoMoto ECU on my 2024 CRF450RL. It’s always in the “dual sport” mode, I left the switch inside the air filter compartment. The throttle is now as smooth as it should have been from the factory, but… over 10,000 feet the idle drops really low and is pretty sketchy to re-start. (An internal barometer is supposed to prevent this?). I I have it set at the recommended 1800-1900 RPM idle. Other than the altitude issue, this really improves the stock bike and the overall cost was still much less than a Husky or KTM and the CRF is much better on longer road transfers between dirt sections than my FE350 was.

I’ve been rocking with the get ECU and the taco tune all summer. It really is a big improvement over stock! My only gripe is that when the bike is operating at temp and you stall (or just turn off the engine for a quick break) it’s hard to turn back on quickly. Usually have to try a couple times before it fires back up. The only thing better about the stock ecu was hot starting lol. The get ecu is superior in all other categories tho! Enjoying your content, ride safe!

Cold starting also sucks - 3 tries every time and that horrible delay between pressing the ignition switch is supa lame

@@wesc23I added 13% fuel in my app to the idle. The bike now starts cold with no choke every time. There is a video on adding gas to the idle it in the app by taco moto that helped me.

Most of the times people have hard starts whether hot or cold is from the idle being set too low. Bump up the idle and it should fix your hard start, unless your valves are out of spec.

Nice vid Rodney. I bought the Get SX1 along with a full Graves exhaust from Taco Moto almost as soon as I got home with the bike. I also bought the T.M. de-smog kit. Exhaust off is a good time to install the Graves block off plate. TLDR: AWESOME!!! The Get ECU gets rid of the jerky throttle and flame-outs. And WOW does it unlock some more power! You do need to do some planning regarding the exhaust. I was okay with the oem but I hated having the cat under my butt. Besides, who wouldn't like to take 10 lbs off of their bike. The issue is that the ECU maps are dependent on the exhaust so they kinda need to be done at the same time. I am super happy with my T.M. purchases. Money well spent. I was a little confused about the TPS calibration cable so I never used it. I calibrated the TPS with the Get app. I also bought the LED switch. Adds nice functionality. Taco Moto rocks. I love the things they do.

I got the GET RX1… just 3 weeks before the SX1 came out. But still an awesome ECU

Why is there so many mixed reviews about this ecu? I have a new 2025 450rl and I don’t want to spend money to get problems.

I also bought the SX1 and full Yoshi from TacoMoto, I been playing with both maps but seem to go back to map 1 often. I bought the traction control knob but not installed yet. Do you know when we will be able to purchase the LED switch for us guys that already have the SX1? Great videos thanks

Does the 450 with SX1 add seat of the pants low end grunt, increase low end trq that you feel? Would the SX1and flywheel weight be a good combination?
@MobMoto3 ай бұрын
The flywheel weight will depend on the type of riding you do. Lots of single track low throttle low speed trail ridding the flywheel weight will be good and help you clutch less while tractoring with minimal throttle. But faster more throttle type riding you won’t feel the flywheel weight.
@ridemfast76253 ай бұрын
@@MobMoto The thought is to make the 450 tractor a bit more like a 500 in slow speed, more technical terrain, rocky... Not hard enduro riding, just more technical, tighter turns, rutted... trails in the Sierras. And the SX1 would compliment the fly wheel weight to increase low end. Maybe I should call TacoMoto since they sell both weight and SX1. Also, do you suppose the 450 feels heavier than a 500 because its more raked so it just feels a bit lazier it tighter turns...?

Are there any DYNO reports on power increase with this, or is this just cleaning up the throttle. I have a brand new 2024 and thinking about making the thousand dollar plunge but wondering if this is REALY worth the money? I've heard reports that the 450RL puts out around 38HP, what happens after the SX1 is installed?
@MobMoto17 күн бұрын
It depends on the exhaust, but yes, it increases power to mid-forties. Tacomoto has measured 48hp with their Get SX1 and Graves full Titanium exhaust on the Honda. If you install the 450R cam in the 450RL and a TacoMoto Get SX1 its possible to get 58hp. I like it, and I think you'll find many people in the facebook groups like the Tacomoto Get SX1 as well.

Mine runs really badly above 8.5k ft. Dies and pops on acceleration.

You’ll want to make sure the TPs has been set and idle is set correctly at 1900-1950. I ran 12000 feet in Colorado less than a month ago and had no issues.

Does installing an after market ECU have any adverse affect on the longevity of the bike? Want one so bad man…
@MobMotoАй бұрын
The more power the motor makes the faster it wears out, but the Hondas are detuned for dualsports and even after an ecu they’re not making as much power as the race bikes. So yes it will cause it to wear faster, but not as much as the race bikes.
