Waz 17-18 at th time🤠 Chuck Berry was once asked what kind of music he liked he said I like what those young white kids like. Lots of party dances. Oh lord. Plus all the rhythm and blues.Makes me smile.🗽

I think it's a good idea to "release" your middle finger (playing the V) to stretch to the VI or VII. It's gets you out of the habit of being glued to a certain position. As you progress, you will float up and down the fretboard to get the tones you seek.

If something is good, it’s good, whether it was done 100 years ago or 5 minutes ago. The good examples of 1st-wave rock sound plenty wild to me in its own right. There’s nothing about death metal etc etc which dilutes that. Punk’s initial wave (1976-77) was a revival and reinvention of rock & roll, much the way the mid 60s British Invasion was. It was raw and crude, the way nature intended. But the punks sold out quick lol. The stuff like Green Day and Sneeze 658 has no relation at all to The Lurkers or Slaughter And The Dogs. Good demo; that’s a happening sound you’ve dialed in. You made some interesting and astute observations. Good one; thanks for posting this.
