From what I understand, Hurricane is one of the weapons with a partially broken armour breaking mod, meaning it only breaks armour on direct impacts... as this generally isn't what you're aiming for with the Mine Layer system, the velocity increase might be a better choice for putting rockets in the ground faster, so you don't need to lead your shots as far in-front of your target a you might otherwise.

I absolutely love the Hurricane, by far my favorite gun for Gunner and the overclocks allow you to build the Hurricane for whatever, its so universal and can be built for CC, single target, mixed. It's a tremendous weapon and is amazingly universal. That paired with the funny ability/bug of plasma burster to insta kill the rocks on doretta missions makes that chunk of that mission a breeze, and the missile launcher itself it great for breaking the beamers

manual guidance cutoff is not a nerf. it allows for tap firing rockets for spray effect, and for fighting stationary objects. i just wish they would buff the rof to MGC so that it was like hipster.

agreed.i think the OC would also be a lot more appealing if the velocity increase when releasing guidance for missiles was a bit more drastic too

"it allows for tap firing for spray effect" the homing is basically a complete non-issue at close range anyway. Using it for this purpose basically means you don't know what you're doing.

@@RamikinHorde having to aim in a haz 5 while bugs are surrounding the player is a slowdown, when mobility is most important. aiming is an action for distant precision, not for wide coverage of a horde. tap firing while moving makes way more sense, i just would like them to speed up the tap fire rof to 7 like hipster.

The max aoe stun missiles and Mole is what I like to use for jack of all trades . The coil gun uses Fear, electric trails and the controlled flow mod to keep safe while the missiles are reloading (born ready)

Actually, for salvo I also like to shoot it at range for crowds as well. It's probably not ammo efficient, but I've found it to be pretty effective.

Want to recommend magazine in tier 3 a lot of the time. The max ammo on this guy is a little iffy compared to the autocannon, and it makes the tier 1 ammo less of an absolute necessity. The missile launcher is the most threatening when multiple missiles have been in the air for a while, the velocity with turn rate can have ~5-10+ missiles hit in a third of a second. If you have a good self-defense pistol or prep missiles well, the rate of fire can be semi-bypassed due to the range and build-up mechanic.

Honestly, we need an AoE overclock for the Hurricane. Currently the only one is technically Minelayer, but it would be nice to have something like little ICBMs that inflict radiation.

I'll be honest, I've used Big Bertha for quite a while now, and have a hard time using anything else as gunner primary weapon. Feels like not packing enough of a punch.

Ammo-accuracy-attack speed-armor breaking-less damage taken. Using it paired with hellfire coil gun for long range and crowd control. And when playing any other primary I can't find this insane balance of good raw dps (for both single target and short to mid range AoE) + very good ammo efficiency (you have A LOT of ammo, but very HEAVY damage + slow firing speed, so you make a lot from it) + tankyness (you lack mobility as gunner, but as you reach max firing speed quite fast, you get the damage resistance pretty soon, so you can tank a few hits without having to rev up and start kiting if it's not a massive enemy in front of you). When your clip is empty, if anything is still standing, 1-2 fully charged shots from your coil gun to set everything on fire and stun Big targets, born ready activates and you get back to shredding whatever you see.

Its also odd to me how missiles have less armor break than fifty cal ammo in the auto cannon, yea i get that it shoots tungsten ammo but that only pierces it, not breaks it, the missiles should fuckin wreck whatever armor you point it at, like rpg's in real life are ALWAYS anti armor lmfao, fifty cals can be but one single rocket will do far more damage than a ma deuce could ever dream of

I wil lactually defend manual guidance cutoff even if I don't think it's the best Imagine you're firing at bugs very far away, you shoot 1 which will hit and kill an enemy and then you want to switch target to another one, with the guiding you'd need to keep your cursor on the first enemy which overall is just slower

Even though I'm champion 3 on gunner and have over 1000 hours, I still hate the hurricane as much as when I first bought it. The missiles just feel lethargic in comparison to every other weapon in Gunner's arsenal (even the Thunderhead with minimum ROF). The amount of constant tracking you have to use in order to effectively use your relatively limited ammo supply is absurd compared to the other 2 primaries, and the only options that allow you to fire and forget are just objectively worse than other builds with other weapons that can do the same thing. Anything the Hurricane can do, the thunderhead or lead storm can do just as effectively without giving me a brain hemorrhage. 0/10 R&D should've canned it before it left the drawing board. Though I might've liked it more if Rocket Barrage was viable in Haz 5/5+

Hi, i was wondering how you Guys are managing your different Builds (A,B,C...) I currently use mainly A. I was thinking maybe it makes Sense to have a B build specifically for lets say Dreadnought-missions where I don't use fire weapons or mods. What builds do you use for what? Just trying to up my game while grinding overclocks.:)

I have a gunner build for each primary and a carpet bomber/hellfire build for deep scan. I have my main build for driller, and a dedicated elimination build. For engi I have two mains, warthog/rj250 and executioner/breach cutter, and an executioner/rj250 build for deep scan. I only have scout build which alternates between m1k and gk2 depending on the mood.

I am actually curious about covert-damage-to-fire upgrade. Does it take away a whooping 50% of direct damage? Does dealing fire damage on top of a burning enemy convert to direct damage to it again? Seems like DoT of the fire is in most cases not even necessary because of how fast you could kill grunts compared to waiting when they'd burn down to 0hp. Hard to imagine the cases where fire dmg is preferable to 50% of direct damage, especially considering how dreadnoughts are impossible to set on fire and oppressors being almost immune to elemental effects.

I haven't checked this one specifically, but what they usually do is convert half the physical damage into fire damage. So the total damage is the same if the bug is not weak/resistant to fire.

@@TheFwip so the heating then is like a bonus effect. I thought fire damage meant you lose 50% direct damage and "heat up" the bug instead
