Release Types:
Index Finger Release
Middle Finger Release
Split Finger Release
Today we are going to go over and learn the 3 best release techniques and tips to use on your shot. Remember, it's all about finding the perfect shooting release FOR YOU, not just randomly picking one. With the right release your shot will become lightning quick, super consistent, and you will hit more shots when the pressure is on. Once you master these simple tips you will hit more shots immediately.
Ever wonder how NBA players like Stephen Curry, J.J. Redick, Kyrie Irving, and Chris Paul have such fluid, fast, and consistent shooting forms? Their release has a TON to do with it. So pick one of these three releases that works the best for you and get after it!
Shot Mechanics combines the advantages of personalized coaching with the accessibility of the internet.

Thank you for improving my shooting skills. I used to be the worst shooter on my team but after a 2 years of hard work now I finally became the top shooter on my team. Thank you very much

I've always had a mid-range game. Now watching all of these shooting tips I did a self test and made 21/24 open threes. i also made 18/24 hand in face threes. I went 48/50 in my free throws .I've been good but I need to get a little better to make it to the pros

Man, I came here personally to thank you after watching the video for the first time and applied this 'split index' to my shot. I used to struggle with ball spinning to the sides for YEARSS! I did try to improve but I don't know, I released one handed but somehow I can't get to finish with 'middle fingers' and they caused my ball spin. So, yesterday I was at the tournament for a game. With this 'split index', my ball spin perfectly(not too much, something like Curry's ball spin). At the same time, I have finally gotten my hands on this jumpshot rhythm that allows me to shoot in mid-air. My form is pretty similar to LeBron's except for the release. What can I say? I hit 5 3s straight in warmups but the shot fell short when I hit one in game. I thank you for fixing my ball spin and allowing me to feel most comfortable with my shot ever since last night!!

@bohemiantoast5004
@bohemiantoast5004 6 жыл бұрын
I think the point is to choose the release that matches up with how you're already holding the ball. You really can't change the way you catch the ball, or where your hand is on the ball. That's too micro. JUst figure out how you naturally catch and shoot the ball, which fingers are in the center. Then do that release.
@YvnggPrez-fy2nz
@YvnggPrez-fy2nz 5 жыл бұрын
Ya because different passes lead to different catches so sometimes my index finger isn’t positioned in the middle because the ball is rotated a different way

@curtisvo5525
@curtisvo5525 8 жыл бұрын
Don't shoot with your legs^, your wrist is what should make your shot go far. Legs give a boost but I personally squat before I shoot so when I catch the ball I jump straight up and shoot instead of dipping which takes more time.
@deyanmatos567
@deyanmatos567 8 жыл бұрын
+Curtis Vo Dipping is faster. The strenght of your shoot should come from the dip because it's the best way to get good range like curry, durant liliard, all of them dip, and use their legs instead of the wirst for strenght

Hey there shot Mechanics... great videos. I wish they were around when I was 10 years old to significantly improve my game. Your videos focus on guards a lot, would you please include some videos breaking down post-up moves and other moves from Power forwards and Centers in the game? For example, think Hakeem Olajuwon (may favorite), David Robinson, Shaq, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing, and even Vlade Divak (i'm clearly a lakers fan!!!)... you get the gist. thanks!
