I've watched hours of youtube vocal production tutorials over the years, and not one of them has told me about setting your milliseconds on your reverb to match your bpm using the equation and using the predelay. Tried it on some vocals right after watching this video and it absolutely changed my vocals. THANK YOU.

Try that: 7500/bpm = pre delay of reverb to sit in your mix. you can also divid the result by 2 if its too much. Add a eq BEFORE the reverb with: low cut: 600hz / hi cut 10k (known as the abbey road trick) and there you go. Source: Bobby Owsinsky

Your explanation was a bomb drop for me. Reducing high and low EQ is a game changer. I did this going the long way around but I’m now going to use EQ settings with the reverb plug-in itself. A BIG thanks

OKAY WHATTT!!!!!! MAAM, THIS IS AMAZING!!! i usually just tool around like a doofus with reverb settings...fiddling into it just "sounds good" - i followed your instruction, albeit painfully, because I have some serious ADD, but it was so worth it!! thank you!

Awesome. Now I know why my vocals always sound echoey or not enough echo. It's the millisecond formula no one teaches when during tutorials on reverb and delay as well. Thank you so much for the gems...you are awesome. Stay safe stay well.

I really enjoyed the song Valentina! I had a quick question: Will the high and low pass filters on the reverbs that come with Logic accomplish the same thing as the EQ feature in the hybrid plugin? Thanks for the video. I am a rank amateur but thought your explanation was very clear!

All great points, thanks for sharing. Learning more all the time. Two easy tricks you could add here: 1. Open any of the logic delays and click on the sync note and logic will show you the equivalent ms. No calculator needed, at least to get to the first answer. 2. You could experiment with a longer reverb (e.g. 750ms here) and then simply "duck it" with the compressor side-chained to your original vocal and the compressor release set to your 187.5ms preference. Will obviously sound different ( effectively an "opposite" ), but, also "in time".

I use automation markers to get a consistent level throughout the tracks I record. I’ve found that once I set my track markers I don’t seem to be able to use the volume sliders for each track on the mixer sliders because they are defaulting to the inconsistent levels of markers I’ve set inside the tracks. I would prefer that once I set the markers inside the track to a consistent level the mixer slider would not read all of the fluctuation inside the track and let me adjust the track levels without reacting to the marker fluctuation. I’m sure there is a simple setting to get there, I just haven’t found it yet. Ive tried turning automation off before opening the mixer. The marker settings still work but the mixer sliders still jump around to the marker levels. What’s the magic switch? I love your tutorials and your music. Thanks, KY fan
