This all makes so much sense! I've decided that I'm going to cut off all my dead ends so that detangling will become easier, I am going to get a cut that better frames my face, so I can try wearing wash and go's. I will start re-introducing water more frequently in my routine. As a natural the one thing that I was so stuck on was this idea of remoisturizing that many people do without washing their hair some how. I was like how are you moisturizing your hair on hair that is full of product? I saw it more as they were lubricating their strands from protection, but not actually hydrating their hair with water. I'm so nervous for this new journey but videos like yours and many others have finally given me the push I needed to start my hair care journey again.

I get too much build up if I use a non cowash conditioner. Cowashes with a cleansing conditioner are great for me I end up having more moisture compared to shampooing
@BL3SSed-Bliss5 ай бұрын
Yes. Uncleansed hair disallows moisture to properly penetrate, hence "build-up". Essentially, it sits atop, giving the illusion of moisture. This is especially true for low[er] porosity strands. It's like oiling your legs without first _cleansing and conditioning_ them. This is why _lotion_ is water-based, so that it can penetrate epidermis.

Thank you soo much, Latoya. I've always been afraid of wash and gos because of the horror stories of endless tangles I've heard. Your tips are very helpful. I actually think is good that your hairdryer only covers the top because the ends are the oldest and most fragile, so the fact that the heat does not hit them directly seems better.
