Thrash till you die! I wear my battle vest almost every other day, love that thing to death, There is a dress code to an extent with girls if you want to be recognized as a metal head without having someone get to know you, I wear leather jackets, battle vests, High tops mini skirts, mini dress or tall black boots and dark make up, I love dressing metal, I stand out and get noticed. Also I'm 6ft, so that gets me noticed too haha

There is no dress code. I mix and match clothing all the time with my cut-off. Jeans, tight jeans, camo pants, combat boots, bright pink sneakers, zebra pants, you name it. The dress is code is whatever you want it to be, and never let some asswipe tell you otherwise. The only thing that never changes in my wardrobe is my 'battle jacket'. That sole piece of clothing is my uniform, everything else can be subject to change.

I prefer the minimalist look consisting of a band t-shirt, cargo shorts and a pair of high top or low top skate shoes, kinda like what Tony Foresta of Municipal Waste wears. It looks pretty cool and it helps you last longer in a mosh pit imo.

To those who want to go to thrash shows and experience the music, here are some tips: - Black shirt. Either solid black, or has a logo of the band you're going to check out - anything other than that and you're asking for trouble. - Blue or black jeans. None of that "baggy" sh*t. Again, anything other than that is asking for trouble. - Black shoes: black boots or sneakers. - Talk "metal". Liberal use of the word f*ck. - Don't talk about hip-hop, glam/hair "metal", country, etc. Do some actual research and find out the "thrashiest" band you can find. Don't say Motley Crue. - Show up sh*tfaced/smashed/wasted. It "heightens" the experience. - Your face should always look angry, even when you're happy and having fun, because metal is angry. - Bulk up a bit, because being scrawny and getting trapped in a mosh pit will hurt. But seriously, just show up in regular-colored shirts and jeans - you know, dress "average". And have fun. It's okay to get a "buzz" going, just don't get f*cked up that you'd f*ck it up for everyone else. Although back then, it was somewhat like that. You had to wear the "uniform". There was a need for thrash fans to separate themselves from what they call "posers". Back then, they had people dressing up and looking like women, which thrash fans hated.

i was in high school from 86-90 and was absolutely submerged in the Thrash Metal scene,. and i remember people would come up to me and my friends all the time and tell us about how they used to have long hair and were into Priest or Sabbath or whatever when they were our age and we were just like "yeah cool man" but were kind of like "whatever so what were never gonna change". but honestly from about 89 to 91 all of my favorite bands put out new albums that kind of underwhelmed me and my friends were getting more and more into Death Metal and i was discovering more and more kinds of weird i didnt even know existed when i was a teenager and my tastes were changing and i was an sukt now which meant that lide just changes and it sucks but its what happens. i did not put any effort into trying to hang onto what meant the world to me at 16, i went out and enjoyed what meant the world to me now at 25 and so on. those bands and albums i loved then are still among my favorites and i still sing along to every word or play my guitar to ever chord. but i dont know man the Metal since and the Metal before just never have done as much for me as the stuff from that short period of time.

Mercyful Fate is Heavy Metal, Speed Metal and is even considered Black Metal. Look it up. Speed metal bands such as Venom and Motorhead influenced Thrash Metal bands of the 80s. Besides, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden are 10 times better than W.A.S.P. and Bon Jovi.
