It's so crazy to see the vaults being valued so low, I saw the "5.2 and up" for vault and I was like "oh so this is the hardest skills but we're going to see the Lopez and others" but then I saw the tsuk double and I realized that everything had been devalued... Honestly FIG doesn't need to devalue the vaults anymore it's the uneven bars that scores the highest anyway.

@murasakino1012 жыл бұрын
I never understood why they devalue them in the first place. Like vault is the quickest apparatus so of course it'll score high but it doesn't score high enough to be a huge problem. Someone with a really clean DTY can still score as well as someone with a not as clean amanar. UB has always had around the highest scores so I doubt vault is that much of a threat
@rachelmarie2228 Жыл бұрын
@@1itslaurahere1 I always kind of felt like vault should be the lowest scoring event, because it is a single skill, while on the other apparatuses they are counting the top X number of skills. Why should a single vault skill, and a performance that lasts a couple of seconds be valued the same as 5, 8, 10 skills and a 90 second performance?

Truthfully, the way Trinity does the Biles should be recognized as a different skill, the entire second salto is forward, although we know by precedent that in the modern code exact placement of twists is usually disregarded. This is analogous to the double Arabian bars dismount and the Fontaine (back salto w/ 1/2 to front salto) being recognized and different, equally valued skills.

Doing a backhandsrping onto the vaulting table is more difficult by itself than just a front handspring but because you get more power from that it makes the flight phase easier. Getting a good block from a Yurchenko vault requires so much precision that I think it evens out the front handspring and the back handspring power difference.

If the Nabieva is downgraded to F, why isn’t Nabieva 1/2 a G?
@triplefull70573 жыл бұрын

@jessicamessica2873 жыл бұрын
i think honestly just because of the massive amount of gymnasts training messy nabs they wanted to downgrade that, but probably figured just leaving nabs 1/2 at h would be easier since not as many will train it due to it basically needing an ezhova after it
@Abahple3 жыл бұрын
I think it also has something to do with the fact that most people training it (including Derwael) aren't actually rotating in the air, making it more of a Nabieva with a catch in mixed grip rather than a true Nabieva 1/2.

All that fawning over her was just too much pressure. It had to have been extremely stressful for Simone to deal with people constantly gushing over her. I think she would have been happier to have just been a part of the team. They went too far with the whole GOAT thing. I mean, even Simone started believing the hype...this woman was walking around with embroidered goats on her clothing. The sports announcers acted like no other gymnast even existed. How could anyone live up to this hype? I hope they learned something from what happened at the Olympic games. The sports world tried to turn an excellent gymnast into a superhuman who couldn't possibly live up to the expectations they all had. What happened to her was a really sad way to exit the sport. I'm glad she is on tour and getting to enjoy her sport without all the intense pressure.
@bellab11422 жыл бұрын
@@mygirldarby Simone started believing she was the goat because she finally realized she is. It's not a belief it's a reality. She's undoubtably, and unquestionably the greatest gymnast of all time. The announcers are meant to comment and critique the gymnast's form and technique. Hers happened to be impeccably better than everyone else, so of course they were fixated on it. She's in a different category that's never been seen before, so her performances have way more anticipation. Millions of people started watching gymnastics specifically to see Simone Bile's performances. The tv channels that broadcast gymnastics competitions focus on her to gain audience engagement... get a grip. She was the most fantastic gymnast and if commentators talked about her like she was on the same level as everyone else, you would complain they're not complementing her enough.
@murasakino1012 жыл бұрын
I haven't heard that she's retired yet but I agree that it's not the same without her or the others like suni as well. The only person close to simone's difficulty that's still coming back is Jade and it looks like she has even harder skills in her kit now, but I'm not the biggest fan of her gymnastics (not saying she's bad because she isn't and she's a truly amazing gymnast, but when it comes to floor, I prefer Simone's gymnastics). I have a feeling that there's a lot of new talent out there though so I don't think we need to worry. I imagine there's gonna be another amazing gymnast coming out soon and suni may return as well(dk yet though since she's doing college)

To the person who made this video: I invite you to revisit your labels for some of the skills. For example, you labeled a double double as a 2/1, where clearly a double double is two twists and two flips, making it a 2/2…not a 2/1…also you labeled the Biles 2 as a 3/1, when clearly it is a triple twisting double back salto, which means it should be labeled a 3/2…I could go on, but I digress. I just invite you to watch your own video with a discerning eye and make the changes that are obvious.
@gymcentric57273 жыл бұрын
you clearly need to revisit your own thinking, because your incorrect. the fraction 2/1 = 2, as in 2 twists. 2/2 = 1, it’s simple math. 3/2 = 1.5, 3/1 = 3. before attempting to correct the video creator, realize the fractions on indicate the twists, not flips.

They are labeled correctly in the video, the amount of flips is listed first and the number of twists last, so in the case of the triple double, it clearly states that its a double salto (two flips) backwards that is performed in the tuck position with 3 twists listed as the fraction 3/1 as it appears in the code of points.
