He got the case, so send all your guitars to Fluff and he will service your guitar for free just for liking this video. Its another (low key) promotion he's doing. Shhhhhh! Its just between us. How many people could be on KZbin?

A cool mod i see the cool tour guys I work with at my production company is they line their tech case (whether its something like this or even a pelican briefcase style one) with LED strips in the lid with a power supply mounted in it, so you plug it in and have the lights turn on and the also have a tuner mounted right in there too. the extra outlets are handy for your soldering iron and anything else you would need to plug in (phone, fishman charging or something)

Would be cool if the stop had a strap lock attached to it, so you could really lock in your guitar

That's definitely a cool case. The Ultracase is also an alternative. About the same price but a little more compact.

After watching a review of a Grundorf GMT-003, I noticed some problems with the design like: the storage compartments don’t have doors or anything else, like a cargo net, to hold the equipment you place inside them, so all your tools and cleaning spray bottles won’t stay organized during transport, also, the guitar body of the guitar you’re working on must be narrow enough to fit inside the GMT-003’s case or it will have to rest on the top of the case at an angle. Most electric guitars will fit with no problem, but most acoustic guitars will not. The case in this video solves both those problems, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to adjust the height of the neck cradle which would be nice. Also, the price is too high, they should be able to make a case with these features for under $200, but thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Yeah, I figured it’d be a bit pricy. I have a much smaller/portable version made up out of a dollar store yoga mat, D’addario neck rest, and a small toolbox for my various parts and small guitar related tools. Just a thought for someone who isn’t one of those touring pros but would like a setup that they can take on the go

Cool product, and agreed with what you said; definitely a worthwhile investment for a professional that NEEDS it. I probably would not recommend for someone working from home that may have space to set up a dedicated work space for a fraction of the cost.

I'm a hobbyist level tech that has all my guitar tools in a box. Fret levels, crowning files, radius blocks, and so on. If this were $300, i'd order it today..... even at this price, I'm interested. It'd be my toolbox / worktable that I could put away in the closet when not in use. Honestly, my wife would rather I get this than my next guitar.

I’m the guitar tech / bass player of my band, we’re just starting out but holy hell I want that! That’s what I’ve been dreaming about! how heavy is it? Is it feasible to take in and out of a weekly practice? Right now I have a tool box I’m using for my guitar work but it would be sick to have this
@RiffsAndBeards3 жыл бұрын
Kind of heavy. But I take it all over the place as I also use it at home for my guitars but then take it to rehearsal when needed. Just close it up and go.

I want this case so I can work on my friends guitars and my own as well. I do have one draw back. I have purchased 2 pedal boards , one with a case and one without. Both took longer than quoted and there was minimal communication from them until I had to ask for an update. The one with the case took nearly a month longer than quoted. Further, one board had warped for some reason which is weird since I, at the time , didn’t live in a weird climate and said board never left the house. They did send me a replacement board , had to pay shipping, and it took nearly 2 months for the replacement board. This is not a slight at them because their products are great , but the communication isn’t .

I don't tour. But I do gig and do tech work. I think I'll stick with my DIY Guitar Tech Case. I just got a Flight Case and did a few modifications to it that cost me all of £50. But I get that not everyone has the time or skill to make one. And some people have money to burn. It is cool though.

Thiiiiis is for people with the bread to buy it. Touring techs will use a cheaper option or the band supplies a (sometimes much larger) tech box. Not in love with the somewhat severe angle the neck rest puts the guitar at, but it’s not an uncommon design. Magnetic dish is cool, though.

I got 3 years before I need to start actually getting a career, is it a good idea to become a guitar tech for a start?
@windyhollow78693 жыл бұрын
it seems like a somewhat rigorous job at times, but honestly it isn't a bad line of work. you get to meet a lot of interesting people and there's always a pretty big demand for them, so with some practice and the right tools i'd assume you could make a living from it.
@GreatWhiteLionSnake3 жыл бұрын
As an overall side career or even (full time) it could be a good thing. The biggest hurdle will be getting a customer base. Most times, it is a very regional base. If you live near a city or a high volume of people with disposable money who play guitar, it could be really lucrative. Keep in mind when someone pays for something, they want perfection. Also, people want a lot for low prices. They don't always realize the time things take to do it or the cost of tools and supplies. Just be honest and fair with people and you should do fine.
