My local music store has bins like this. Mostly as freebies for customers who broke a generic tuning machine, or if you lost a pick guard screw or something. They have accumulated it over decades of repairing and upgrading instruments. They always keep the take-offs when adding new parts for clients. That's the difference between a giant chain and a local spot

Glenn Fricker from Spectre Sound Studios did a shootout comparing different tubes inside the same amp. And the difference was negligible. Check out his KZbin channel if you guys aren’t familiar with him. He does a LOT of videos teaching how to do things in your home studio. So if you guys are recording at home, or looking to start your own studio, his knowledge and tutorials are top notch. He runs a heavy metal specific channel.

Let's just say that your the man to come to if you ever need your guitar or amp fixing. Lot's of cool things. I've never seen so many bridges in my life. One thing I couldn't see is if you ever need your guitar neck frets replacing or did I miss you showing that. Another great video and would be nice sometime to see a studio update on anything new that you have Rob. Let the studio diary video you did when you moved from your old studio.

Holy crap! So many Floyd Rose replacements and parts. I've only owned/played Fixed bridges. Are Floyd's that delicate they break apart so easily? Maybe it's just the sweating nightly use on tour that really wears them out?
@RobArnoldWorld2 жыл бұрын
Haha they're well made, and the parts do last... But yes, life for a guitar on the road year after year takes its toll. Plus, we'd have multiple guitars with Floyd's on the road, each with their own needs.
@chaos12919752 жыл бұрын
Potts did someone say Potts lol that's freaking awesome i love it, the Floyd drawer then the string one is great lol. i always get why do you have all that stuff you wont use it. and i would say but if you do need it and don't have it . i am going to use your video as a training video for getting ready for the road lol. love the videos keep them coming. do you have any on right hand picking? like gallop and stuff like that. because your pick hand is great. i am always getting stuck . i did see one song you did and you said tilt it down or up a little but i still get hung up

Hey Rob, did you obtain all the pots, bridges, switches, etc as part of any endorsement or just kept pieces like a “scrap yard” from older guitars. Just curious. As always, love these behind the scenes looks at touring rigs and whatnot. Keep up the good work and keep it metal!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻
@RobArnoldWorld2 жыл бұрын
Most of the stuff was obtained through our endorsing companies, like ESP and EMG. Both companies were super supportive of us, and would send us whatever we needed. So for example, once every tour cycle or so, we'd send ESP a little list of parts we needed to restock our reserves and what not. Touring guitars obviously require a lot more maintenance and TLC, as life on the road creates some harsher circumstances for them. And then eventually all the parts begin to accumulate, and that "scrap yard" grows and grows!🤘

Did you ever notice there’s a whole different language we speak as guitarists? There’s a bunch of stuff that we all know exactly what we’re talking about as soon as we say it, but you’d get a sideways look from anyone else. “My G string is slipping”, “I stripped out one of my nuts”, “My float is off”. Say any of that to a normal person and see what they say lol. Really cool to see a deep dive on a legit tech tour bench. Thanks Rob! Ps, I kinda dig the brick corner vibe. Tbh for a second I thought it was green screen and you just picked a cool background 🤣.
