Tonya...aka Monarch??? No way, how awesome. Last saw her as a ridge runner in Georgia or NC when the NOBO season on the AT kicked off. So exciting to see her and Zobie again. She's just so wonderful. You all have to do some major juggling to get around that north section. Thanks for posting

You can tell what bears are in your area by the scat. Black bear poo is pretty normal, but grizzlies have difficulty digesting hiker clothing, shoes and bear bags 😂 But seriously, stick with your group, always keep one ear open and have fun! Beautiful videos!

i've been telling my brother about you, he worked at Yellowstone. He is not an advocate of tent camping due to Grizzlies, but at least you guys are staying together and that is important. ( Just know that rangers have a dark sense of humor. Tent campers are soft on the outside creamy in the middle, cyclists are "meals on wheels" and if you die, there is not a word to the public.) Skin so soft, amazing scent, we use it on our horses as a fly deterrent, but you are very smart to keep it away from camp. Final thought, OMG is James coming to visit???

KELLY,, I took lots of pics of bears in Glacier. The black bears came in 4 phases. Traditional black, light & dark brown & even cinemon not much over 500 lbs. But, the Grizzlies I took pics with telescope lenses were always brown with a HUGE hump on the shoulder & exponentially larger. Bulls could easily go 1500 lbs & stand over 10 ft.tall. Don't listen to the guy's phone recording of him & his girlfriend getting eaten alive in Alaska.. it will traumatize anyone who hears it. I wish I never heard it !!! Praying 🙏 for your Devine protection ! Love ya ❤❤ !!

I am no expert but in my experience i found in most cases a black bear will run away before a grizzly will run away a grizzly doesnt spook as much as a black bear. There are also cinnamon bears that are native to the US and Canada and they're basically a black bear that's brown.

Was on Denny Trail; (near West Yellowstone), when, *what looked like to me, an animal the size of a freight-train-locomotive),* crested higher on this uphill trail, just above me. (Carried no defensive devices, I turned slowly and walked back down the trail). Huge animals in Montana. {Wake up encounter, for a city person}.

Black bears can be brown, but theybarebsmaller than grizzlies. Grizzlies have a hump on their shoulders, which makes them easy to ID.

@musingwithreba9667. Exactly right. Also, black bear usually has lighter color fur on it's muzzle.

@ThomasSayne-d1y2 ай бұрын
Stay safe please! Don’t run in big predator country. Running makes you less aware of your surroundings and also attracts them.Mountain lions are also prevalent in the west. Also mountain biking in those wild western lands attracts them.

I reckon those "stolen land" - "land back" folks just finished their first semester at Sarah Lawrence. Ahh yes, what a peaceful utopia it was before the arrival of that Pilgrim guy from the Quaker Oats line of products. The land was free from conflict, and nobody ever disputed over land or Clif bars.
@dannyjamison83372 ай бұрын
@chiefenumclaw7960. No doubt that spray painting was done by some spoiled, 19-year-old suburban white girl who has never endured a hardship, but wants to "make a difference" by hating everything.
@MaxZomboni2 ай бұрын
That sign is on the border between Glacier NP and the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. I think its pretty unlikely that the "stolen land" folks who did that attend Sarah Lawrence. A quick check shows that Sarah Lawrence has exactly one Native American student. No mention of that student being a Blackfeet.
