Watching this video brought back so many memories of my hike of the CDT. Definitely be careful on the snow. I almost died in the San Juans from sliding off a cliff.

Glacier is my favorite national park. It is really awesome and every body should see it at least once in their lives. That mountain weather up there can change on a dime. It's still hot and sunny down here in Maumelle!

I lived in Great Falls, MT from 1985 - 1989. I was in the Air Force at the time. I remember going up into the mountains in the summer and experiencing snow, Snow in July. Ain't life grand?

Oh my gosh!!! We left Many Glacier on the Thursday before the snowstorm was to hit. We stayed in the part of the hotel that didn’t have an elevator….on the 4th floor. It was a workout. Also…the bellhop with the flowing blonde locks earned his luggage hauling tips!!! Loved Many Glacier! Glad you played it safe!

The bighorn sheep will mostly chill around hikers. You are likely to see mountain goats as well but those were sheep. The boat tour at Two Medicine is awesome to take.

@ElberGalarga22Goats don’t have suck large horns, those were Bighorn sheep in the early part of the video but at 17+min there were several goats.

It's really a blessing to see that unbelievable scenery in person I bet it comes back in Kelly's dreams. This trek is her version of Neil Armstrong on the moon and she's the astronaut now. If you had an American semi-longbow and two cedar arrows with Grizzly heads you could BBQ a wild sheep. I hear that they are some of the best eating game meat, along with caribou and elk. Maybe that's too bloody for KZbin but it's how we all got to

Of my top ten treks of all my time the first three are my three trips to GNP. And, as is often true, the best way to experience this National Park is to walk it, live and sleep in it, for as long as your other obligations will allow. Yes, you are going to have an amazing, at times breathtaking, hike and we are all looking forward with great anticipation ( no pressure!) the video documentation of your journey.

To hike the PCT or CDT in one direction in one year, unfortunately, you will usually have some snow to contend with unless you skip around. Be careful.

That was a great plan to go up and over where the snow was b/c that looked very sketchy. Glad you are back on trail. I will be in Yellowstone National Park with my wife and family at the end ofJuly I think I’ll just miss you guys.

Those goats aren't as "friendly" as the one on the AT near Pearisburg VA, sadly though they aren't on trail anymore after the great goat round up of 2023

.. Beautiful trek .... Pretty much first 1/2 SOBO is near winter conditions ,, NO air mat ?? will need 2or 3 foam pads just to handle the cold hard ground ... body needs the rest .. Stay Safe ..

I wish there was some way to post that a room is needed, a website so that people who live outside GNP could help thru hikers. I have three open rooms and no way to find out when thru hikers needs them. Is there a site?

Completing the hike is doing the miles. What you do aside from that (side excursions, hotels, camping etc) is totally up to the hiker.

Gossamer Gear makes a nice zipped, padded phone pocket that velcros to any strap. It fits an iPhone Max size too!
