Scott, I use calibration in Lightroom on every photo, but I’ve never tried adjusting the other two colors. I tend to only use blue, but experimenting sounds like a great idea.

Hi Ron! Blue is certain the magic one for landscapes (and likely other outdoor photos... blue sky days throw a lot of blue around). The others... worth an experiment :)

I also use ON1, so thank you for covering it. I will give the channel mixer a try; experiment with it a bit.

An interesting quick overview. I am an aON1 user and have not really used that method you show cased, will try it soon

Thanks for this, Scott. I had seen the Lightroom blue primary adjustment before, and was curious about a corollary in On1. Much appreciated. Hope that trip was awesome. Great to have you back making vids again.

I'm an ON1 user and although I'm aware of the Channel Mixer effect I have never seen it demonstrated and explained. One to try. Thanks.

Very helpful approach, thanks As you mentioned, many times the only time i am at a particular place is during mid-day so this will be a BIG help.

Another On1 user here, so thanks. I often find that the Desert or Fall presets in the Colour Adjustment filter can boost a dull image. Also (I haven't tried it in a while) isn't there a Golden Hour filter in Luminar Neo? How does that work on your image?
@ScottDavenport

Didn't try Golden Hour. That tends to add warmth overall. Could produce a pleasing look, though likely different. IMHO - ultimately no wrong answer so long as you get the look you like.

Thanks, this will help. In On1 could you get similar result with a LUT?
@ScottDavenport

It'd depend on the LUT.

Hey Scott, thanks for a very useful tip, and for including ON1 for those of us who are aversive to paying for something we never will own. Being an amateur hobbyist/hack in this field, two questions occurred to me regarding using ON1 for this type of edit. First, On1 has several camera profiles built in similar to the profiles available in camera. Landscape profile typically amplifies blues and greens, so why not start with a profile like this and then "de-tune" it? Secondly, would the new Color Edit filter in On1 2025 accomplish the same thing, but maybe with more control since you pick the color/colors you want to manipulate? I always enjoy your video instruction for its clarity and succinctness.

A profile... maybe. Certainly try it out. If you get a result you like, faster than fiddling with the Channel Mixer. As for the Color Edit filter, that'd produce different results. Effects filters like Color Edit or Color Adjustment target specific colors in the photo. Where the Channel Mixer is changing the red/green/blue mix of every pixel.

Sound Like you're using a Circular polarizer filter

Certainly, wrt capture time. A polarizer is a staple for landscape photographers (as you well know!)
