Same crap I dealt with... Google via Ezoic. I had sites approved with 20 articles... Then I had other sites with 60 articles saying it was 'thin content' / 'low value content' / 'site structure'... Basically some vague sh*t answers. None of it was thin or spun or scraped content, all good 1,500~2,500 word articles. Ezoic was VERY helpful going over things with me to see what I needed to change. Basically for that one site they (Google) just wanted me to completely change my sites layout. So without adding or changing content I just changed the layout some and added categories and changed my menu layout and then Google was happy. Made NO sense to me, but whatever, it worked.

Agreed. Just had exactly the problem myself. Also, the way they just label it "low value" I find really insulting, when we're the ones that might have 5-10+ years experience in a niche, have written all our content from that experience, and they give this arrogant carbon copy "low value" response, as if a site checker with NO experience in that niche even has the authority or expertise (notice the words used) to even make that call. Really annoying to deal with and I long for the day when ads online work off a totally different model than this one mammoth company controlling most of it.

This video was 🔥🔥🔥 After I watched it this past Tuesday, I changed all the 16 posts to have 1 category for a total of 4 categories. Put the categories as the main navigation. Resubmitted on Saturday night and I do not lie, 12 hours later, about an hour ago, I got the email saying my site is now approved for Adsense 💥💥💥 I submitted my blog with 15 posts to Adsense about a month back and got rejected for low quality content. Thought I had to add some more first. All the posts were in either 2 or 3 categories. Just finished up a long post, fixed the categories and menu and resubmitted. Thanks Ricky! If I'm building out about 30 articles on 3 connected topics under one main topic/category, would it be helpful to remove my "empty" categories that I plan on writing more content on in the future? Also does this include sub categories? Ie. If I have 5 categories on my site, with 2-4 subcategories in each, could they want 7+ articles in each sub category?

Very timely. I just attempted to sign up for adsense and was shocked when they rejected me (They didn’t give a reason). Will try these fixes. Also curious if you noticed your sites improve in Google when you make these fixes. In theory IDK why they wouldn’t use the same tech to evaluate sites.

Great vid as always! The duplicate content question is interesting, and I think it's a fine line. For instance, what if you do have a single H3 subsection that is pasted into a lot of different blog posts, simply because the same information is genuinely useful in the answer to many different queries? Would Google penalize that as well? Seems a bit unfair if having that H3 section in just delivers the best user experience and helpfulness for each individual blog post where you put it in. It's got to be about the end user at the end of the day.

Good question but I wonder if it's asking too much of Google's bots? Do we expect them to understand content that well, or just look for duplication? Can a bot know that paragraph will help a human enough to make it worth repeating many times, especially if the topic is super niche? Google just notified me that they think my site is based in the Netherlands.... I'm Canadian and have zero reference to the Netherlands anywhere nor do I use a VPN. Their bots are a lot dumber than we think ... IMHO

@@LMCEK Exactly. That is my point. These things are too complex to be left to algorithms that use cold logic and do not really capture context. But at the end of the day a real person decides the parameters of this algorithm and how it assesses websites. I just think it's a bad way to go. Plus Google is one of those frustrating mega-corporations where you can't just speak to a real person to challenge something or argue your case. They want everything automated and AI driven, and it's just one more example of that.

Noob question - Say I have a travel blog with the category 'Destinations', with a subcategory 'North America' and further subcategories under that of 'USA' and 'Canada'. When I create a blog post about a location in the US, do I ONLY use the 'USA' subcategory, or also tick 'Destinations' and 'North America'? No, but it's not worth to have ads on site that doesn't have traffic. I don't put ads on sites below 10k traffic anyway. it just slows down website in period that you should focus on growth anyway.

Good advice as I recently got rejected twice but found 2 resources pages that I didn’t fill up and just had a “coming soon” and just removed them from the menu until I get the content for those pages. Only had 2 categories but 45 posts on 1 and just 1 on the other and got approved after these minor changes. Google was saying I had “misleading” content.

I have a unique issue going on with one of my sites. It ranks well in Google but is outright banned from Bing. I know Bing doesn't generally bring in a ton of traffic, but I find it very frustrating. P24 member, posted in community and brought this up at a master minds with Anna. My site is getting 45,000 page views per month from Google, would love to get a little bump in traffic from also ranking in Bing. Bing is also used to power many of the smaller search engines as well as Alexa voice search. I feel like I an missing out on potentially a few thousand page views per month.

Do packing lists count as low-value content since there's a chance that some of the items on each list can overlap with each other? Wouldn't Google look at that as duplicate content?

Very interesting when you said about having the same post in more than 1 category. What about when your post is on the blog page and of course it’s on a category page as well ?? Would that be considered duplicate content ?

It wouldn’t. That’s actually very normal. In fact, that’s how the technology on blog sites works by default. But adding a post to multiple categories kind of makes it looks like you’re trying to make your site look like it has more content than it does. I think that’s the reason.

This is what I am struggling with. I have 4 websites all with about 60 articles on averaging 1500 - 2000 words per post and all I keep getting from Google Ads Manager is - Thin Content. Even things discovered in labs build on things discovered by someone else. The point isn't that you won't build on what others have already said. But if you can't talk about a topic with some personal experience and if you don't do some sort of original research then you won't add any original value which means your content won't rise above mediocre. Original research is the best way for bloggers to stay relevant in the future days of AI.

One of the problems is the way you're setting up. I mentioned it before, but you don't noindex categories, leading to the issues at 5:05. Change that and you won't keep having that issue.
