At 22:43 yellow hits a decent-sized orange stack. If they were collaborating, they weren't very good at it. Maybe orange didn't have good board awareness and thought yellow had positions elsewhere? That's the only other thing I can think of. Otherwise passing up that kill on 5 cards is a novice-level play.

That's a very fair point. I think amidst all of the frustrations I overlooked that play by yellow. I still have no idea why orange would spare him. Even if you somehow fail the kill on that 150-38 cap roll because you missed a position somewhere, you get to sit on an unlocked capital. Removing that orange position seemed like a no brainer to me.

Its hard to win alone, well i would say nearly impossible on an open map. If you have to fight every battle you will always be weak. Its why its so easy to win when 3 guys all fight over noob corner on eu advanced, you only have 2 opponents really and usually one of them fights pointless battles they should not get into, letting you grow strong.

You got a 254 loss on the 270 cap at the end. Those positive rolls in this game are wild

I understand the appeal of true random capitals because of rolls like that. They’re so much less likely in true random. The capitals gamemode would honestly be so perfect if they made balanced blitz a bit more rigid with capital rolls. There should never be a chance of a positive roll when the stacks are that big.

Yeah yeah, I have one question. Why did you remove yellow?? 18:00. For this reason yellow attacked you. You are saying why you are attacking me?! But this is consequences of your actions😂😂 that is funny

Do you mean the material behind orange that I wasn't even successful on? I had a read that he was stuck behind purple and tried to play off of it. The problem is, I don't really believe that's why he was going for me. He had fully tried to take bonuses in the pocket to the left of red, and red removed him there, but he never made an attempt to get revenge on red, who likely removed way more material than I did. I've played quite a few games of Risk, and I don't like calling people teamers. But when sets are 50+ and you're staring at a 38 cap with a 150 stack that will double set you and you don't take the kill, that just points squarely to teaming. They targeted me because I was easier to break, red was holding a giant stack in front of them. Hope that helps give some insight into my feelings about yellow and orange's play in this one.

If that is how you view it, it is also the reason why you usually dont win many games, you get into pointless battles that only costs you troops in the long run but also dooms the other player from being able to win so he also will drag you down. If you pointlessly squabble over 10 territories, in 10 turns that is 100 troops that both you and your opponent has lost instead of doing it politically. By establishing good relations even if he gets more troops then you, he will be the one that has to killl the third player and once he does that you are usually just as strong. Even if you hold no bonuses and not a chance of winning if you establish good relations with a strong player he will often give you second place just because you were a good neighbor instead of the asshole from his point of view.

@@daniellassander so let me get this straight. Your telling the guy who took 1st place, that if he'd only follow your advice another player might be nice enough to gift him second place. He'd be a fool to ignore your advice.

@@oneInterestingguy Daniel is a long time viewer of the channel and I believe his response here is to the original poster and not myself. It’s a little confusing because it does seem to line up with some of what I was saying, but I think the main response is to the OP about yellow’s getting revenge. I think Daniel is getting at if yellow left me alone, I’d see him as a viable neighbor and could let him chill while I try taking out orange. That’s basically what red ended up doing and it got him second place.

I think this video game is giving you anger issues lately. I don’t see a world where orange was teaming with yellow. You said it yourself at the beginning that yellow was an over aggressive player. And orange was probably a noob who thought he had an advantage and wanted to keep his opponents weak and had no board awareness to kill yellow. I recommend you take deep breaths or maybe even a break if this worsens. 🫶

To be completely transparent with you here, I’ve been under a lot of separate stress lately. Unfortunately, pairing that with trying to record 5 videos in one night (fully my fault for not better planning ahead), and I can get a bit frustrated. I’ll probably consider a break once we hit the one year straight of videos (in about 2 weeks). I appreciate you looking out for my mental health.
