@Chang Bo That is a dumb, utopian socialist statement. We must have industry for communism, we need it to provide for us all, but it is true that we must change industry as we know it rapidly, VERY repidly. Don't be a Ted Kazcynski, be a Lenin.
@uwatrkoda91313 жыл бұрын
While it is true that any industry plays an important part in socialism, it's also why Socialism and Communism is a thing. Ever since the rise of the industrial Revolution, the Bourgeois social class started to oppress the lower proletarian class with their new fancy machines that would be able to manufacture more products. The bourgeois society however had no sympathy over the worker and endlessly exploited them, that is how Socialism came to light, how Marxism and communism came to light. Without the industrial revolution the level of oppression offered by the Modern Bourgeois society back then would be a lot less effective, therefore not needing any radical changes such as Communism.

Just think of the entire track as a verse and loop it 3x. :) Seriously though, I don't think you can remove verses from such an important, enlightening, and empowering anthem of humanity without diluting it and making it more easily co-optable by the enemies of humanity. Recall how the effective censoring of a single verse from Woodie Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land" made it possible for our class enemies to warp it into basically a sequel of their capitalist/classist/nationalist/jingoist propaganda hit of the previous year ("Gawd Ble$$ed Ameri-Corp.") which Guthrie was attempting to counter.

A Internacional Une a raça humana!

Pretty good... but I think as far as the English lyrics go we should really just adopt the Billy Bragg version as standard. Has the same spirit, far less archaic and the words flow with the melody much better. Stand up all victims of oppression For the tyrants fear your might Don't cling so hard to your possessions For you have nothing if you have no rights Let racist ignorance be ended For respect makes the empires fall Freedom is merely privilege extended Unless enjoyed by one and all So come brothers and sisters For the struggle carries on The internationale Unites the world in song So comrades come rally For this is the time and place The international ideal Unites the human race Let no one build walls to divide us Walls of hatred nor walls of stone Come greet the dawn and stand beside us We'll live together or we'll die alone In our world poisoned by exploitation Those who have taken now they must give And end the vanity of nations We've but one earth on which to live And so begins the final drama In the streets and in the fields We stand unbowed before their armour We defy their guns and shields When we fight provoked by their aggression Let us be inspired by like and love For though they offer us concessions Change will not come from above

@@MajorasWrath1 I: I´ve heard this argument over and over, but what _is_ liberal about it? What liberalism does it espouse? Genuine question. As for being "too kumbaya", well, perhaps - but what about it? Isn´t leftist struggle inspired by love for humanity and the desire to bring about the brightest possible fate to the world? There´s nothing wrong nor "hippie" about calling for love, respect and unity if we recognize that struggle _will_ be needed, and the "love and peace" doesn´t extend to our opressors edit: typo
@iamnohere2 жыл бұрын
@@greenskydiver427 I: I think I get what you mean now, thank you for explaining - though the USSR was _indeed_ not really communist, since it did not achieve a stateless, classless, moneyless society, and what´s worse, it strayed far away from actually striving for it. The party was laden with corruption, as were the "communist" parties in the USSR´s 'satellite' countries and moreover, a stateless society cannot be built via the means of state power in the first place. I don´t think he´s advocating that "singing kumbaya can get stop capitalism". Perhaps it comes across that way because messages of love, peace, respect, etc. have been dismissed and strawmanned as "Oh, let´s just sing kumbaya and all will be fine" so often. Sometimes, yeah, people misguidedly (or even maliciously) promote being nice towards one´s opressors, "just getting along" instead of confronting them, and so on, but given the lines like "change will not come from above", it doesn´t seem to be the case here, imo
