Great vid! My problem is gonna be flexibility. I can't get my feet in and out of my board using the handle, with a harness on. Tight hammies. Can I sorta skip past that step? Just practice lots of one-footers holding the fin and then go to board offs holding the fin?

bro regardless of board offs just start stretching your hamstrings, you will feel better
@gethighwithmike4 жыл бұрын
I see this super often! I'd recommend doing some yoga and focusing on long static holds in downward dog. A few weeks of stretching and you'll be able to do the handle method for sure. Just be persistent. Your posterior chain will thank you for it ;)

This tutorial helped me the most out of any other one especially with practicing the grip on the beach and kite position. I would add that you can practice ANY board off in full at home/on the beach just do the following: Keep your straps on the board, take off the fins, put the board down in the grass, and go through the full motion of grabbing the board down at the fin, swinging it out then putting it back on your feet. Make sure you do it cleanly, no hitting the straps with your toes/foot. Do 20-30 of these after every workout you do everyday and you can quite literally do a board off blindfolded! For extra preparation do it with a harness on, and for extra extra preparation do it with a harness on a chicken loop attached to a branch/tree. Also for me learning board offs was quite easy once you follow the steps in this video. But not everyone is kiting in 25+ or 30+ knot wind everyday, like pictured in this video. If you are riding in 15-25 knot wind a critical thing is to keep your kite at 1-2 o'clock until you have swung the board out and back to you. If you heli loop to early you will be pulled away from your board. Not very critical when you have more hangtime to learn it (25+ knots), but in lower winds on big kites, be sure to keep your kite on the other side before heli looping.

Guten Tag! ;) Mike, again a super nice video! Love the way you explain things in a fun way. I could already do a fin board off before I've seen this video but your tips still are really helpful and makes it easier now. Keep it up!

Hey Dennis! Thanks for watching! I haven't actually tried the front roll to darkslide 😛 I do a backroll to darkslide. I can make that one! Once I've learnt the front roll to darkslide I can make a tutorial. Lemme know how it goes! NYEOWWWW!

Great video Mike! I got the Imperator 7 and I am still struggeling trying to find the right stance for my bindings. Mind sharing yours? I am 189cm at 82kg. You using the inner or outer screws. What angle? Thanks!

Great vid as always! I have notice that our pads are in narrower stance on Your imperator. Core service me that for my weight (94kg, 185cm) it should be wider for 139/42.5cm imperator board. I am wondering what is Your opinion about it.

1:41 wait how’s a tictac easier than a board-off at the fin

Really nice vid bro, I need to train that fin board off, so thankssss :-) Small question : did you land megaloop fin board off :-) ???? Hope to see you soon in Tarifa without quarantine !!!

Thanks brother! I haven't landed it yet but I dare to say I am close :D I can't wait to push it with you!!!!
@warrior311808 ай бұрын
I think the board off by the fin is easier than the tic tac, that you show in prerequisites at 1:43, why do you think the opposite ?
@gethighwithmike8 ай бұрын
Fair enough. Most riders I've spoken to agree that the tic tac is easier because you get to put the board back on using the handle, which makes it easier to pull the board onto your feet. But we're all different ❤️
@warrior311807 ай бұрын
@@gethighwithmike it makes sense, interesting ! Personally I find it harder because you need a little bit more hangtime, and rotating the board in the air can cause accidental rotation/oversteering, but we're all different indeed ;) Great video anyway
