The Harry and David traditional fruitcake is still one of my favorite fruitcakes. I look forward to the random Harry and David pop up shop in the mall and buy it as a treat for myself during the holidays.

Wow! I give a gift of them to 2 of my Friends, They both love them. The price is about $23 or so for a regular one The shipping cost are high, yet sometimes a discount.. I've never tried it, as I don't like fruitcake.

I know you hate it, but my favorite Claxton's Fruitcake is back at Walmart. And as usual, when I went in the day after Halloween for candy, even though it had just gone out, half the case of them had sold out. They usually never even last until December 1 here, and I shop at 4 different Walmart's. I bought 10 of them right away. That said, I may just give this a try. Fruitcakes are usually pretty pricey just because of the amount of ingredients and time involved, and it's been like that since I started cooking. I even made one once and even back in 1995, it cost me almost $40 in supplies. It was pretty good, but vey labor intensive.

I have ordered the Gethsemani fruit cakes many years ago. I remember the alcohol flavor being strong for me, perhaps I prefer fruitcake without alcohol. But I'm glad you finally tried it. I'm wondering if you would be willing to try the Kirkland/Costco fruit cake this year. Theirs is my favorite.

Costco fruitcake is good? I canceled my Costco membership last year after buying their GIGANTIC apple pie for Thanksgiving. It tasted like the apple pies you get at a gas station and I was furious. I do miss the Costco meatloaf, and mashed potatoes though! I could eat on it for a work week!

@joshuatexas I liked the equal balance of nuts, jellied fruit and cake of the Costco one, it doesnt have too much of the cake part Iike other fruit cakes seem to which I like. Though I haven't had it in a few years so I don't know if it's changed. Oh that's a shame about their apple pie. My family used to get Costco apple strudel but the apple filling was very underwhelming, like apple pie filling in a can. For me, Whole foods apple pie is pretty great. Glad to hear you enjoyed their meatloaf and mashed. I used to love the turkey pinwheel wraps but they changed them to chicken and they're awful.

Unless you’ve had a true fruitcake you will never know how wonderful they are! I tried Walmart’s once after having a Collin Street Bakery fruitcake and threw that baby in the trash! Very rich on the real fruitcakes! A little goes a long way! Great review!!!!

Hi Tami and Kevin, I just found your channel a few days reviewing some frozen chocolate pies. I've seen a few more. You two are excellent reviewers being so through ,detailed ,descriptive ,and in a calm and enjoyable manner. I wonder how long you been doing this? I do enjoy watching reviews of food ,restaurant, and even a store one's. I will look your and most likely watch more.
