My fam has been buying the Costco pumpkin pie for like 20 years. My dad loves it. Last year my uncle got some 'fancy' pumpkin pie and my dad was pissed. I like how it has a softer texture and actually tastes of pumpkin, but you're right that it's HUGE. For a big crowd or an office party, it's a winner!

Costco pumpkin pie tastes just fine to me. I’ve never got any saltiness from it. It tastes better than a lot of grocery store pumpkin pies in my opinion. Especially with ice cream!

The Costco pie is (58oz) 3.63 lbs. It's the BEST to me, and I've tasted a lot of pumpkin pies over the years. I don't shop at Sam's Club, so wouldn't know how it tastes for a comparison. Lol

Sam's club pumpkin pie is a 10! Tastes like homemade. And Sam's pie is $5.98, same price as walmart. But SO much more tasty than walmart's.

I've never had a good store-bought pumpkin pie... Not even ice cream or whipped cream (😲) can save it for me. Fortunately I've perfected my own pumpkin pie recipe that fits my tastes. I always look forward to it. 😄 When I used to go to my aunt's, she just served store-bought pies that I always passed on haha. Pie was always overlooked in favor of the party-sized cannoli and butter cookies.

I think my dad got one from Publix that he liked. I am not a big Pumpkin pie person - it tasted okay to me. That was when we were living in Miami, so we're talking 35 years ago since I had one! LOL

If you buy a crust pumpkin pie is simple to make… the crust is the only hard part… and if you want super simple get a box of yellow case mix, spread over a greased pan melt a 1/2 stick (or whole stick, lol) get a can of pumpkin pie mix and follow directions for pie filling, spread over cake mix and bake… you can even top it with nuts or whipped cream, cool whip or ice cream!!! It’s delicious!

The best Pumpkin Pies I used to buy every year was the Pumpkin, Pumpkin Pecan and Pumpkin Supreme from Baker's Square. They had the best fruit pies and cream pies. We always got their Candy Cane Pie at Christmas and the Andes Mint Pie for St. Patrick's Day. Unfortunately, the shutdown of 2020 did them in. I miss them so much. I don't like Meijer's at all, but the Kroger ones at Pick N Save is ok. I either make my own or buy a Marie Callender frozen Pumpkin Pie.

COSTCO one is my absolute fave and here in Canada they've already come and gone because Thanksgiving has already passed by in October ....gonna miss it, til next year! Also, we love putting lots of cool whip or whipped cream on it, lol. I don't recall much saltiness in the crust though when I've had it.

Hey Tami, have you and Kevin ever tried the Kroger cranberry celebration salad? It's my family's favorite during the holidays. It's super sweet and delicious and totally different than any canned cranberry sauce out there. They actually sell it year round. I think you guys would really like it!

Nothing is wrong with canned pumpkin. We always use canned pumpkin. Costco didn't bother adding enough additional spices to the pumpkin.

The Whole Foods pumpkin half-pie is indeed 13 ounces (or at least officially) - it is listed as a 3 slice pie as well. The whole pie is listed as 9 inch pie. As for the Costco pie, the site says: "Costco, being a wholesaler, naturally has massive buying power. It can secure bulk ingredients at significantly discounted rates. That's exactly what it did here with its pumpkin pies." It said on nutrionix that the WF pie slice is 180 calories and takes 48 minutes to walk it off (LOL) so I am not sure if they are being accurate on the site OR the pie container! None of the pies you tried look like their crust is nice. I bet you would do a fantastically better job if you made it, Tami.
