For me, it's visiting shrines and temples and collecting omamori for various occasions and reasons. Cool souvenirs that take little to no room when you're one-bagging it

I really enjoyed walking along the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko and looking at the majestic Mount Fuji. It's simply one of the best views I've ever seen. It was there that I also took my favourite photo that I've taken so far: Mount Fuji and its mirrored reflection on the lake, slightly covered by fog. Of course, there are many other wonderful places in Japan. I don't think I'd ever get tired of it!

I highly recommend Sunshine City mall in Ikebukuro! It's got a Ghibli, Disney, One Piece, Marvel and Crayon Shin-Chan store as well as a Pokémon Center (the one with Miraidon at the front) and the biggest Gachapon store i've ever seen :)

I’ve been to Tokyo several times, and never get to visit all the stores I want to explore. My first time to Tokyo I stayed in Akihabara, which colours some of my favourites. Here are mine, in no particular order are: 1. Yodobashi Akiba for the variety of appliances and the cacophony of displays on the games and toys floor - plus a mind lowing selection of Gacha 2. Don Quijote - at least a quick stroll through every one I pass by. The selection is so different from store to store, it’s a quick temperature-check of the neighbourhood vibe. 3. Ginza Itoya - the sheer variety of writing instruments was mindblowing, with the different floors so thoughtfully curated 4. Loft, for its eclectic mix of interesting and practical. I love perusing the greeting cards and picking up cards I won’t find at home. I picked up a 45l packable “souvenir bag” there, giving me space to pack non-fragile souvenirs and laundry for my flight home, making space in my hard-sided carryon for more precious items. 5. Ameyoko Shopping Street gave me a sense of the less polished side of Tokyo, with the bustle of people, warren of stores along the street, and mix of restaurants to keep my strength up while exploring.

My fav spot has always been Nakano Broadway, a very nice yet eclectic collection of shops for just about everybody. My second fav spot? Meiji shrine - not for the shrine, though it is pretty. Its walking through the grounds. Everytime I come to tokyo, I head there to reset my zen.

I just came back from Tokyo! Your videos helped a ton. I went to the travelers factory shop it was amazing and now I’m in love with my passport and full size notebooks! I really loved shibuya particularly the Pokémon shop and Nintendo shop. Really fun. The other thing that was awesome was going through the basement floor of The Lofts in Shibuya where they have all their stationary. It was amazing.

I just came back from 3 weeks in Japan. It's amazing how little you can see in that time frame. I went to harajuku and Shibuya but wasn't able to get to Cat street connecting them both times since everyone else in my party was exhausted due to the humidity and heat. Will prioritize that next trip. I think a ton of your viewers may like a store in Shibuya called "Loft". It's an amazing place for cheap, but quality souvenirs definitely above Don Qui and has an amazing journaling section (including Traveler's Factory goods). Ginza Itoya has the same, but focuses more on art supplies.

I made my first trip to Japan last weekend. I'm by no means experienced in shopping there, but Ueno with its selvedge denim stores and other made in Japan shirts, jackets, boots, etc. seems like a highly recommendable shopping destination. As an aside, I'd be very interested in how to find good coffee in Japan. Everything there seems so dark roasted.

I've spent a lot of time in tokyo and if you appreciate the things in this video, you'll also be rewarded by just walking. Really, pick a spot that is on Maurice's map and walk there. Tokyo is filled with unusual and unexpected beautiful architecture, shops, cafes... it's sometimes unbelievable how much there is. Sometimes I'll go to an area that I've never been only to realize it in itself is full of cool things. You can't miss in Tokyo. When it comes to art, pop culture, etc there is nowhere on the planet that competes.

I think it's a bit outrageous for people to be walking around a big city with a $10,000+ designer bag on their arm, you might as well hold up a "please rob me" sign. Secondly, I really don't feel sorry for these brands, they raise their prices at least twice a year, so basically they are driving any potential customers into buying fakes. *hotdups*

My first ever trip to Japan was last May for about a week. I tried to pack in too much to do. :) I did manage to go to the TN in Kyoto and at Narita airport and went a little crazy. I am going back at the end of August and I am hoping to check out Tokyo Station and find the TN there as well and now I will add Cat Street as well. I enjoy your channel.

I really liked buying anime tshirts from Uniqlo since they were about $9 each. Also when I would go to a destination like Shirakawago for example, I liked getting a magnet and anime key chain. So I could always remember about my time there

If you're going to Akihabara for anime goods then Radio Kaikan would be my recommendation if you have a few hours. You can take the elevator to the top floor then walk down using the escalator. The building should have most stores for whatever you're looking for. Bonus points it's in 1 building so it's not hard to find your friends

For me, it begins and ends at Kappabashi Street. Rather than buying souvenirs, I go toward functional items that can be used daily. I’m uncomfortable spending any amount of money on things like you showed, but won’t hesitate spending US$200+ for another knife.

i love Cat street! i didn't even realize the name of the street but i had been there before when i was looking for some rare sneakers a year ago... for me though, my favorite place in Tokyo is Fūunji tsukamen in Shinjuku. it's usually my first full meal whenever i arrive, and my last whenever i depart Tokyo. i'm not sure what happened to the original shop owner/chef as he hasn't been there the last few times i visited post Japan lockdowns, but the tsukamen is just as good as i remember every time i go.

I have been to Japan many times. Spoiled I guess, but I get tired of the shoping. It is everywhere! That being said, I like Shibuya over Shinjuku. The hills there are nice and the station is easier to navigate. I always have to hit up Tokyu Hands. I find the best mechanical pencils there. I got one this trip that is 1.3mm, and they had one that was 2.0. As a 40+ man I try to steer clear of the Harijuku area but my kids like it, so I find myself there once a trip. There is a cool hat shop there called CA4LA. My wife always finds something she likes. My obsession this trip was the coin dozer games. They are amazing! My favorite Gatcha from this trip was a sumo onigiri wrestler. I found that there were less weird Gatch this trip.
