Been saying 76ers should've just went with the route of 2 stars with high quality role players instead of getting a declining star player in Paul George. I know PG on paper with this team is solid, but he is getting in his mid 30's already and giving PG a max money at this point in his career was a gamble. Getting solid role players benefits having money spread out throughout the roster and making any changes if needed.

Warning ⚠️ Long Post/Rant ⚠️ 👇 I’m a lifelong Philadelphian & 4 for 4 Philly sports fan professionally & Temple University alumni & collegiate fan of my Philadelphia based alma mater. So obviously used to disappointment & disgraces on so many levels… All that to say this by far is thes biggest disgrace I’ve ever seen in my lifetime . And I’m in my mid 30s . Oh yeah and it’s only 14 games into a season ! It’s not a disappointment to me though. I was laughed at by my Sixers friends for saying that Tobias Harris was essentially what PG would be here in Philly with more fanfare. And I was wrong because he is worse than that! Dude was always a loser , he never had a killer mentality , and there’s a reason no one else like the Clips who gave up SGA and most of their future to pair him with Khawi wouldn’t offer anything more than a team friendly contract. The 76ers completely outbid themselves & are stuck paying this clown for four more years while their franchise player who misses half the season anyways is now a malcontent whom they just extended for 4 years as well! The only silver lining is that the franchise will have a realistic chance to keep their 2025 first round pick which was traded to OKC but was top 6 protected . And there are definitely going to be a worthwhile top 5 in the draft this year namely Cooper Flagg. But who am I kidding the 76ers are so cursed they’d get the 1 pick draft Flagg and the ghost of Markelle Fultz would enter his body making him forget the game of basketball.

They are so done... Embiid ain't playing more than 40-50 games, George just tweaked his knee again. I'd be surprised if they put out 82 games combined. The only bright spot currently is the rookie balling out, good for him, and Maxey of course, he will pick it up! Dunno, as great and dominant as Embiid is, I never took him seriously. He gives out a vibe that just doesn't inspire any confidence in him in big moments. It sucks that he is so injury prone, be he was too often outshined in big moments, even when he played. And I actually don't think they would be that good even if they were fully healthy this season. Playoffs probably, but no way they are beating the Celtics or the crazy Cavs, or Knicks once they gel, I think they will soon. Even the Bucks seem to be picking up the speed. They are way more scary at full power imo! But their head coach is freaking Doc Rivers, so there is that lmao.

I would overall agree that over the course of Lebron's career, other superstars were able to win over him and he didn't dominate championships over a decade like MJ did over his 6 chips. Not to devolve this into a GOAT debate... But, each of those were once and across a 20 year career - the longevity and changes in the game/rules cannot be denied. Joker nor KG faced Lebron in the finals so, depending on your opinion, gatekeep could be a strong word when the same thing could be said about MJ. It took him a few years to get over the celtics, lakers, and pistons before his dominate streak. And then, he lost against the Magic after he came back from his "retirement". People can't tell me MJ wasn't still dominating the year he returned from retirement when he was dropping 40 on a young Shaq and in the prior season, the MJ-less bulls lost in the 2nd round...meaning they were still a good overall team. Lebron pretty much single handedly took KG and the super star celtics to 7 games as well...I think sometime we underestimate how bad those early Cavs teams really were. The dude had fringe all stars and starters that he was carrying to the ECF/Finals until he went to the Heat. TD & KG also beat Kobe, and were GOATs in their own right and arguably the GOATs or gamechangers for their respective positions (TD is likely still the PF GOAT and Dirk showed how valuable a stretch 5 can truly be). Another way of framing this debate would be to say that Curry prevented Lebron from becoming the inarguable GOAT by preventing a few championships in the pre and post KD era. But, neither player necessarily prevented some of the super stars of their generation(s) from winning chips.

Also Joel forgets he’s the one who was colluding during the season to get PG to sign, they could’ve added depth seeing as he was already gonna miss games as per usual but no I wanna sign PG even though he was there third choice cause if clippers paid him what he thought he was worth he would’ve gone there, he was calling clippers the b team of LA so he would’ve gone to lakers if they had salary cap, and then GSW but the clippers refused to trade him there which they luckily dodged that bullet so actually the 76ers were 4th choice and still spent max on him stupidly. You’re a former mvp and all nba player who’s a big everyone else plays around you talking about im confused it’s still the same coach and coaching staff as last year.
