Looking for a bridge camera, for travel purposes. The obvious choice was the Sony RX10 IV but after some research...the price of this little camera and its weather- and dust sealing PLUS 2.8 over the entire range of 24-600? Definite contender now...

I bought mine last december for a bit over 400$ on Amazon. I have a cool picture of the sun I got with the camera itself and nothing else. You can see how orange the sun is and see black spots on the sun, probably flares

I bought one today used from my local Facebook marketplace for CAD $300 / USD $223 in excellent condition. Do you guys think it’s a great price? It comes with all accessories and its box.

Is that good for plane spotting?
@clorox16765 ай бұрын
Yeah. It's great for planes, birds and nature. It's only Achilles heel is low light as it has a small sensor. If you plan to use it during the day it's perfect. If you also often take pictures at night or indoors of moving objects or handheld, I'd go with a 1" sensor camera like the fz2000 or similar, but of course they are bigger and heavier than the fz300.

I dont know if im just not using it right but i got one of these recently and the quality just isnt very good. Honestly its worse than a typical modern phone camera aside from the zoom.

I do not know what you have photographed or what you expect - I have used this camera for circa 8-9 years now and find it a Gem - no other camera in this price range can compete I have been posted on FB for years and a few of the photography pages have used my photos for banner - where as the most are pricey SLR photographers if one uses a tool well - good results

@friendlygarfield it's OK in good light but in dimmer conditiona it's just bad

@@VincentsVideoVisions Pal - photography is the capture of light with any bridge camera with this size sensor - this model has the largest aperture to full extent of the lens ( f2.8 is as wide open as can be to allow more light in ) it has purposely only divided sensor to 12 mpixel - so the actual pixel is bigger than other cameras with same sensor and more mpixel photos so yes the FZ 300 in low light /dark /shadows is not in it's sweet spot - the photos can be acceptable to post on social media (FB /you tube /smart phone ) recall if a person is seeking the best iq/video quality - Hasselblad / Leica produce great cameras for the price one spends - this FZ 300 can produce great results

@@VincentsVideoVisions you might wanna sacrifice the shutter speed because due to the small sensor it doesn't perform as well in low light
@clorox16765 ай бұрын
In low light it struggles because it's small sensor, which is the trade of you compromise for lightweight and smaller size. To compensate you have to either use a tripod and longer exposure times (great quality but not great for moving objects) or increase iso. Nowadays you have "AI" software like DxO PureRaw that can remove noise extremely well.
