Camping in the rain - Mapungubwe and Kruger National Park
Early 2021 saw the tropical storm Guambe transform the North of South Africa. Ed and I decide (on a whim) to visit Mapungubwe and Kruger National Parks to see what it looks like. In an attempt to go see the big waters, this trip would take 14 days and traverse over 3000 km and three provinces. We camp at Molope, Mazhou, Punda Maria, Tsendze, Satara, Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop and Berg-en-dal along the way.
A special thanks to Edward Bath Overlanding (bit.ly/3ah09HJ) for joining me on this trip again, for sharing some great footage and awesome camera work! Thumbnail also courtesy of Edward Bath.

Hi just interested. What do you do with the trash and wast food . Do you put them in your vehicle or do you put them in a trashRoo and hang the them up in a tree so the animal can,t get at the trash. I live in the uk so would to now more about four wheel driving in South Africa
@GetOutGO
@GetOutGO 2 жыл бұрын
All of the South African national parks have garbage bins at camp. In remote camps, especially in Botswana, you have to carry your garbage with you (wheel bins like the trasharoo works best) and dispose of it at specific points (at the gates or towns). Roofracks are usually the best place to put garbage bags to keep it away from animals.

I'm no longer a 'meat eater', but, have to say that potjie looked de-li-cious! Also have to say, 'I dream of my childhood in South Africa, it's mountains, rivers, wildlife, nature and fruits, nearly everyday of my 50 years in U.K. and damn, do miss biltong and droewors'! Wonderful to see the lush bush and the soulful music was perfection. Wonderful to have been able to virtually travel with you again. Thank you and thank you to your lovely wife for the 'secret herb and spice mix'.
