Credits to Nigel, he played really well and yet had bad run of the ball on more than one occasion. He deserved to win.

should have played a better shot on the pink not to leave a long shot on the black which he played badly

Hendry admits in his book that he shouldn’t have used the new cue he had in this match, he’d recently changed it and was playing really well in practice and made a 147 with it but hadn’t played with it enough and the slick tables at the crucible caught him out and it took him a few frames to get used to it and he did make a good comeback from 7-3 down but played a poor safety on the re spotted black after getting a lifeline with Bond’s in off
@markchalled39764 жыл бұрын
Nigel shows great character. The understatement. (Perhaps just being British.) Uncharacteristic Hendry pounding the cue on the boards after the kick. Bond, Nigel, Bond Baby!

Shameful of Hendry to unscrew his cue before match had finished. That’s deliberate gamesmanship. It’s also a way to get in your opponent’s head - as you screw cue back on - as if to say “wow you shouldn’t have missed that”. He should’ve lost frame and match for that

hendry screwing the cue back together is quite funny !! Something about respotted blacks and this guy... Those kicks... i wonder if he uses the new taom chalk everybody is raving about. Higgins was saying yesterday that its incredible. And hes also switched to titanium ferrule. Less deflection apparently and wont wear of from the slight sanding it gets when changing tips.
@heavenlyactsatheavycost76292 жыл бұрын
well, two years late. but for those are wondering, yes, he has switched to the new chalk; he talks about it in his youtube channel a bit and had an interview recently (at the time of writing) with Judd Trump (who is one of the few not using the new chalk, along with Ronnie, and Zhao Xintong apparently)

I remember watching this match on betfair. When Bond potted the black first time Hendry's odds went to 100-1
@TheJohnCooperShow4 жыл бұрын
Why 100-1 ?
@smith07794 жыл бұрын
@@TheJohnCooperShow because the odds on Hendry winning after the black was potted was 100-1. How many players pot the black and go in after?

Curious quote at the beginning. I would think these players realize that their ‘job’ is to entertain. If you take no risky or exciting shots, would people be bored watching you win? Just a thought.
