Best frames of one of the most dramatic matches in snooker history: excellent hard-fought frames, fantastic steals, crucial and hurting in-off's, a very involved audience and a terrific final frame. The atmosphere is that of a final.
Stephen Hendry and Nigel Bond have given us wonderful snooker battles in the 1990s, 2000s and even recently in 2020.
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.

Why does Nigel look like he is 10 and 60 years old at the same time

well , he may not look as flamboyant 'rogue' as Ronnie or his genius predecessor Alex Higgins - but then How do You look in your shaving mirror ??

Credits to Nigel, he played really well and yet had bad run of the ball on more than one occasion. He deserved to win.

should have played a better shot on the pink not to leave a long shot on the black which he played badly

Nigel shows great character. The understatement. (Perhaps just being British.) Uncharacteristic Hendry pounding the cue on the boards after the kick. Bond, Nigel, Bond Baby!

Hendry admits in his book that he shouldn’t have used the new cue he had in this match, he’d recently changed it and was playing really well in practice and made a 147 with it but hadn’t played with it enough and the slick tables at the crucible caught him out and it took him a few frames to get used to it and he did make a good comeback from 7-3 down but played a poor safety on the re spotted black after getting a lifeline with Bond’s in off

Shameful of Hendry to unscrew his cue before match had finished. That’s deliberate gamesmanship. It’s also a way to get in your opponent’s head - as you screw cue back on - as if to say “wow you shouldn’t have missed that”. He should’ve lost frame and match for that

hendry screwing the cue back together is quite funny !! Something about respotted blacks and this guy... Those kicks... i wonder if he uses the new taom chalk everybody is raving about. Higgins was saying yesterday that its incredible. And hes also switched to titanium ferrule. Less deflection apparently and wont wear of from the slight sanding it gets when changing tips.

well, two years late. but for those are wondering, yes, he has switched to the new chalk; he talks about it in his youtube channel a bit and had an interview recently (at the time of writing) with Judd Trump (who is one of the few not using the new chalk, along with Ronnie, and Zhao Xintong apparently)

Curious quote at the beginning. I would think these players realize that their ‘job’ is to entertain. If you take no risky or exciting shots, would people be bored watching you win? Just a thought.

I remember watching this match on betfair. When Bond potted the black first time Hendry's odds went to 100-1

@@TheJohnCooperShow because the odds on Hendry winning after the black was potted was 100-1. How many players pot the black and go in after?

Probably a bit of adrenaline as well I guess , he must have been in "shredsville" as Jimmy white would say ,when addressing that pot.. to be fair he did great to compose himself I guess for the next few exchanges, my head would have totally gone ... but that's why he was and still is a top snooker player. Great video
