You don’t remember this album until 94. CFH 1990. Vulgar Display was released in 92. Far Beyond Driven was 1994

yes, '94. Not sure why I was thinking '92. I remember getting this CD *after* I was married in '94.

Phil was having his back problems really start getting more serious around this time, and for the first time he was truly feeling vulnerable as opposed to that strong youth he had always had felt. That was kind of the idea that sparked this. Unfortunately, those back issues would be the first step that led to his heavy drinking to self medicate, and eventually pills and heroin use. Sadly, those problems would lead to issues between him and the band, and lead to their eventual break-up.

Pantara is Spanish for panther. The Abbott brothers (Vinny Paul & Dimebag Darryl) are from Arlington Texas

Dimebag is the reason I saved money to buy a guitar. Taught myself and this song never gets old. A true master and his solos are so amazing

Gnarly screams are a huge part of Pantera. I use them as the example when talking to old heads about “too much screaming.” Makes me chuckle, “they’re not death metal or screaming or anything” HEH

Awesome band. Got to see them live twice back in the early 90s. Managed to get front row for one of them. Never experienced energy like it anywhere else since.
