The middle part where Brian is starting some heavy riff and it turns to a John Deacon's bass line over solo....just mind blowing catharsis!

I hate to say it, but everyone's forgetting about Roger. Very unique pattern choices, his singing. It's easy to miss out on that guy in the back. But they would have been a very different band without him. Cheers :-)

@@oliverkaiser794 totally agree. Love Rogers voice, great song writer and one of the best drummers. He still kills it. He has a solo album out from some small venue concerts he did not too long ago.

I’m a rock and roll chic now in my mid 60’s and I still freakin love this song. I was in high school when queen 1st blasted onto the scene. Keep Yourself Alive and this song Liar were my first introduction to this super group. From the moment I heard queen there was no turning back. I was hooked. To this day in 2024. I am still rocking this tune at full volume. I know it’s hard to believe, but can you imagine growing up in a time where we had all this music brand new to us? Great reaction, guys

Great reaction! This is not really a religious song. Although the song starts with someone confessing their sins to a priest. It is someone that is looking for acceptance within society, he first tries the church, but he is rejected. Then he seeks acceptance from his family and he is rejected again. In the end he realizes, "they bring you down before you begin, you have to be dead before they let you in. " It is actually one of Queen's most depressing songs, Freddie very likely wrote this song about his sexuality not Bohemian Rhapsody, the song was first titled Lovers.

For me.... Freddie was sent to a Christian Boarding School at the age of 7. For me this song is about an incident that happened at that school. In the documentary "Lover of Life Singer of Songs," Freddie's mother reads a letter written by Freddie in that boarding school where the headmaster called him a liar and cut off his hair. That would have been tramatic for a young man separated from his family.

This song may have a religious feel to it, but track 9 shouts it from the rooftops. for a nice long musical intro the next track has over 70 seconds before he vocals kick in, but it's your reaction to the vocals on track 7 I am waiting for

Boarding school was not easy for Freddie although had a band and was therefore poular there are hints that he was abused. Think this song may tell it all. Who knows? He was very lonely. Parents lived in Africa he in India.

I'm certain this is Freddie's 1st diss composition - referencing an issue he faced as a youngster . . . and his Mom stood by him. The culprit knew. Read the book advertised as being in Freddie's own words. Also there is Freddie saying, in an interview, words to the effect, 'listen to my lyrics and you'll know about my life'. Freddie carried on pursuing life and creative dreams cause his religion also taught him what he needed. Freddie Mercury was a good man, inside and out.

✝️ L I A R ✝️ LOVE THIS SONG ONE OF MY FAVS 💟 About a man at a church asking for forgiveness but finding none. Everybody thinks he is a liar and that nobody can ever believe him again because of what he has done. In the live performance Freddie encouraged John to sing with him on the bridge, which is rare. I think LIAR has something to do with an incident at Freddie’s boarding school. Hmmmmm

This an awesome series of videos, but let us shake it up a bit, branch off to RUSH... These are my favorite groups of the 1970s (rush and queen) that just obliterated the blues, and took rock and roll to a new level, and they brought in modern rock and roll. All metal derives from this foundation... I would bet the farm that rush ushered in Metallica. I wish that queen had come to rural Arkansas, and that I could have seen them in concert, but rush did, and I was a faithful fanboy for over 10 years - until they turned into sell-outs to the establishment - done with that.... not a fan, not a puppet, keep to the true meaning of rock and roll, or else get woke go broke
