I actually love the fort. Anytime I go play cash at the rooms at the D/FW area, I don’t seem to do nearly as well as I do up at Winstar or Choctaw. I mostly play tournaments at the card rooms.

For the most part it does. I cash out quite a bit.

I live in small Texas Town. Within 150 min drive are over a dozen poker rooms. Mainly San Antonio, Austin and Houston. For $1-$2 games, I usually take 2 buy ins of $300, or $600 total. Most $1-$3 games are max buy in of $1500, up to uncapped. Occasionally in Houston, players buy in for $5000, usually waiting and opening in PLO games. To these games, smallest buy in I take is 2 buy ins of $600. Largest I will take is 2 buy ins of $1000. Must manage your bankroll, but buying in too small is a huge handicap as well

Fair, was hoping to switch to $1/2 asap. Also not comfortable putting $1k on the table tbh
@marcuslarwa90989 күн бұрын
It isn’t just run bad at the 1-3 game you are really handicapping yourself with only 300$ but in. If people are sitting there with 1500-3000k stacks you will pretty much need to double up twice in order to play against them. With your stack size you make it extremely easy to play against you.

I swear the average 1/3 game in Texas just feels like a 2/5 even a 5/10 sometimes everywhere else the 1/2 is where the real poker is at
@JosephWagoner169 күн бұрын
Okay, so you're mentioning something that I'm constantly arguing with myself over. "Not running good lately" is purely magical thinking. We know better, but we allow the perception of luck instead of the reality of variance to color our perceptions. Same with the $300 bullets, we both know that those 1/3's are DFW's version of a super action 2/5 game any where else in the country, especially at Shuffle. I love my $300 bullets, it's easy bankroll mgmt. But, I feel like it's time we face the changes of poker in our area and start sizing up.

Idk man there’s been a lot of super coolers the wrong way lately. 🤷♂️ hoping it turns around soon

If you can’t afford to top off your stack to 100 BBs you are playing too big for your bank roll.
