0:15 Of course they're great for trying new boots. Not only does it make it more comfortable when trying in new boots you haven't worn yet, it's just more hygienic as well. Most people probably don't want to try on a shoe someone tried on without socks. And it keeps the inside of the boot cleaner and less smelly. But once you own the boots for a while it's up to you if you want wear socks with them or not. I hear older boots without socks are quite comfortable to some.
