NOT QUITE everywhere.... I work in a foundry, and one of the coworker horror stories still floating around from many, many years past was about some lad who wore cowboy boots with his pants tucked in, every single day, until liquid metal spilled down his leg and into his boot. 😱 He didn't lose his foot, but it was never the same. Just got my first cowboy boots, and promised my foundry buddies I'd never wear them anywhere near our shop.

I came back to this video to thank you. I am a 15 year old boy who lives in Denmark so it ain’t really normal to wear cowboy boots here. I always loved your cowboy culture and wanted to be a part of it but I didn’t want to stick out very much due to my social anxiety. But watching this video helped me a lot. Thank you much🙏

Useful advice. I totally agree about just going for it, wearing them often and enjoying them. I used to think really carefully about when to wear them, who I might meet, what they might think. Now I just wear them all day every day and as you say, "own them" ! You're doing a great job Jeremiah! Thanks.

Don't be afraid to be a "trend setter." Confidence and an overall sense of self-assuredness, are both contagious, as well as apparently obvious. Whatever I wear, I make it mine. It's my belief that the average person, would be shocked to realize the difference in impressions that are projected outwardly to others, depending on the individual's level of self-confidence. I also believe it to be utterly important, to seek out sizes and styles, that are complimentary to your individual morphology. This requires a bit of research and experimentation, but ultimately can pay dividends in the aforementioned areas individual ego. Great video Jeremiah!!!

Use Shoe trees in your boots if you don't wear them a lot, or have a bunch of different boots. I also put an empty 2 liter bottle in the shaft of my boots to keep them from folding over.
@DubbleM900
@DubbleM900 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely use shoe trees, but ESPECIALLY if you wear them often. They'll last a lot longer and the boot will keep its shape. Probably smell less if it's a cedar shoe/boot tree. Also will draw moisture and sweat from the boot which is good for reducing odor and prolonging the life of the leather.

"Hi Jeremiah, personally I don't really care whether people in my area or other areas wear cowboy boots or not, mostly it's the cowboy boot magic in me and make that magic last! I live for myself, not for others because I'm different inside. As far as I'm concerned, I'm a boy crazy, I love my cowboy boots even more when they hurt me the first or second time. leaves me with an unforgettable memory and I adore them! My first pairs at the time, I left to work with during the daily walk! Now I have a beautiful collection but none, I say none, will end up in a closet so much that I love them and I take good care of them! "

4:01 This is also a more attractive way to stand and walk. If you are a "short" king (about 5' 6") the >1" heel can make you above average height, coupled with standing up straight, you will be taller then 50% of other men you see.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Great advice, especially for you new boot owners. If you like cowboy boots just own it and be proud to wear them. Don’t worry about what other people think, wear them because you love the feeling of wearing boots. If you have knee, hip or back pain you maybe surprised to find out that the boots will help you deal with the pain. Many people wear them just because it is the only footwear that helps them with their pain management. Very informative video Jeremiah.

(Guess I put this on the wrong video, my old comment seems more appropiate for this one) I grew up in a suburban town that was attached to a major city. My childhood was grounded in good country music (thanks Mom) and going out to the country to stay at my grandparents. I wore cowboy hats for portrait pics and walking around out in the country. I loved the style, but I knew in my high school located in suburbia, I'd be made fun of for dressing that way, so I never did. Say what you want, but the high school social climate matters to over 90% of kids and it did to me too. So I settled with dressing for the times. My high school was mainly Abercrombie, Hollister, Ecko and fubu, mixed with a little punk rock (and no, I didn't wear that stuff lol). Now that I'm 37, watching Yellowstone reignited my love for the western fashion and memories I grew up on. Being married and no longer giving a damn about what people think, I've bought a couple cowboy hats and have purchased a couple of square toe boots as well. Super comfortable and man I love wearing this stuff. I feel.... at home. Thanks for being real and I know, I'm late as hell to this video lol. You got a sub outta me friend. Keep up the good work.

Jeremiah, I am from Texas and I wear boots, even on sea cruises. I cannot tell you how many people I've met on a cruise because of my boots. Folks are just so curious about them... are they comfortable, do they last long, do you have to own horses, etc, etc? It has always amazed me at how many people equate a beautiful pair of boots with someone of wealth and power, neither of which are particularly true about me.

Tip for ya. Instead of scuffing gup the bottom for grip, buy a jar of tough toe ( is has grit in it) and put it on the bottoms. Once it dries is ain't coming off. Now you have instant grip tape. It works excellent and lasts.

This was an awesome video. It made me feel great about buying my first pair of cowboy boots at age 47. I’ve been racking my brain at whether or not my boots fit right. most of the factors of a proper fit are in place there just seems to be a good amount of heel lift.(maybe a bit more than a fingers worth). Would I be correct in assuming that there is a break in period and the heel lift will go away…? I may do insoles but I’d rather not…I think the 1/2 size down would have been too tight…..

Just picked up my new boots today, Tony Lama Bowie (Oak). Absolutely LOVE them and fit great. One thing that I’m worried about now is, they recommend beeswax to keep the “distressed” look while protecting also. They were out of it but did put on a coating of the BICK 4 that you showed. Ironically watching this video, you said NOT to use that product, better to use a distressed leather lotion specifically. Is this leather a real distressed or is it just a look OF the leather? If that makes sense. She said NOT to use minx oil bc it would only darken them a lot and that’s what I don’t want. I’d like for them to have that “tri-color” brown look. Is it too late bc of that first conditioner application? Also, you recommend that distressed lotion over beeswax for my specific boot? Thank you in advance, your knowledge is GREATLY APPRECIATED. I’d like to really take care of these awesome boots‼️😁

I recently got my first pair from Beck Cowboy boots it Texas. They are a semi-custom fit for $519.00. It took me over a month to figure out how to walk in them without every step being so jarring. There’s a trick to walking in heels. It’s not easy, especially for someone who’s never worn boots like this before and who are used to walking heal to toe. Maybe you could do a video about that? Hi Jeremiah I've just landed on your page about Boots, Music and More... I'm already a fan!! I've bought my wife 2 x western boots, Laredo & Dan Posts. It was her first ever genuine leather boots. South Africa (ZA)has a few "factors that don't support importing items from abroad" and theft & high import taxes are the biggest deterrents !! I also tried 2 x pairs but returned my boots to a ZA supplier because the heel area had a lot of "play". A bit too much for my liking as I am convinced that the leather was still going to relax and stretch a bit with time. May I ask the following few questions, please: - What is slippage in the heel you talk about? Can you please clarify a bit more? - would ypu recommend adding a rubber outsole to the Dan Post leather soles for some extra grip? My wife does not get to walk around a lot and as such I'm concerned that when she does, it might be a bit risk... Thanks from your new fan in ZA. Stay safe.

After wearing them in the house on the carpeting so as not to scuff up the bottoms I confirm that they fit albeit very snug. The leather will stretch out where it needs to conform to the shape of your foot. Then, grab my bottle of Feibings 4 Way Leather Care conditioner and brush it on with a synthetic bristle paint brush and old tooth brush for where the sole and the body of the foot join and for any seam that the larger brush will not reach. Let soak in overnight, wipe excess off the next morning, then apply a good coat of shoe cream. Now the leather will really stretch more easily and conform to my foot shape. All the fitting issues at the instep and heal areas will become less and less as you wear the boot.

So I just got my 2nd pair of Double H boots the Old Town Folklore Brown leather. They are great boots but but I jumped right into wearing them on vacation instead of breaking them in first. They are snug in all the right places but seem to be breaking in differently from the left boot to the right boot. If that normal? They still have some heel slip is that normal? Also Which conditioner would you recommend? I am thinking the Bick 4 that you showed here. Thanks in advance. Love the channel

Very cool video idea JC ! You touched on it a couple times, but with even McDonalds workers making $20/hour, if an American made product costs as much or less, you’re sacrificing quality obviously. Rose Anvil cut open a pair $1000 USA Luchesse’s, and found they skimped on a couple things. For me I want top quality, and Tecovas are pretty legit on that, but to each their own.

My dad bought a pair of Tecovas online that didn’t fit. He is one of those people who never sends things back for any reason and decided to make the boots fit by wearing them anyway. I came over to see the boots and watched as he could barely fit them on and struggled to walk in them. 😂 I asked if I could try them on and they fit almost perfectly. I just wish they were one half size bigger in the toe. I ended up getting them for Christmas. 😂

I have a question. I just got some double h square toes, and they feel great. But my heel only slips that one finger distance maybe 7 or 8 out of 10 steps or so. They are also steel toe as i need them for work, can u give some pointers for sizing those type of boots. Thanks

Best brands that make a size 16 wide cowboy boot? Any recommendations to look at? I want to get my first pair and finding the size itself is hard

Always have worn a “construction” boot. Or much boots. Thanks for the help. As weird as it sounds. How big is too big around the calf for cowboy boots?

I've had my grandmother's boots since I was 15. They were too narrow for her, and nearly too narrow for me. It's been years and years since she gave them to me, and I only just now got around to getting them broken in. I didn't know to condition them first, but they're soaking wet right now, I'll have to condition them when they dry.

So I just picked up a pair of ARIAT MEN'S HERITAGE ROPER 10" WESTERN BOOTS, in the Distressed color, are you saying I shouldn’t use Bick 4 on them? If so, what should I use? I’m in North Dakota in freezing temps, if that helps.

living in ohio i really get the part about others not being popular in the area. But when I do wear them people do complement them. And I realized that I do see other guys wearing square toe boots too

Are mad dog goat boots a type of leather you would use a distressed conditioner on?

I just bought a pair of nubuck cowboy boots, they fit pefect but what product should I be using on them? I was told not to use mink oil or a leather conditioner because it would darken them but to use a spray on water proofing.

Hey everyone, I am looking to buy my first pair of boots I like quality so I definitely want to have a look at the real thing. I would like hem to have those beautiful flame tings on the side, regular smooth lather and I have to be able to fit my arch supports in there. Does anyone have a tip what brands to look for in Europe?

I just got a new pair of boots and i conditioned and waterproofed them. I flowed all the instructions to a T and have never had a problem with the products. The toes of the boot are now a different color, darker than the rest of the boot, just like the first 2 maybe 3 inches. This same thing happened to my girlfriend on a different brand a boots, and using different products. What would be causing this and how can we fix it?

Hey I just got my first pair of boots and have watched a bunch of your videos. I bought some Dan Post Abrams or I think they may be called Cavvy’s too. They told me they come pre conditioned and don’t need anything for 4-6 months. Is this true or what should I do with them?

Hey, I got new boots yesterday! They fit and when I stand up straight with my shoulder leaned a bit back, I sure as heck feel like I'm on top of the world. My question for you is are you aware of Laredo Western Boots and do you know if the leather for them is real? The ones I have are like $140.
