Hi Sandy! Your channel is so important to me because I don't see many black designers with content like yours on KZbin. I will graduate in May with an MIA degree and I've been looking at firms to apply to and honestly, it's extremely discouraging - I've combed through many employee pages and have only seen a handful; if that, of POC or black people working in these interior design/ architecture companies. Representation is so important and we need to see ourselves reflected in these spaces because we are in them.

I appreciate this comment so much! I felt the same lack of representation which is one of the reasons I started my channel. Congrats on graduating soon! Proud of you! :)

I truly love when you post these interviews with fellow designers. I can't tell you how inspirational and encouraging they are to me. Since your last interview with Tamara I have applied and have been accepted to Brenau University's Interior Design program, starting in Fall 2021! I completely agree, diversity in Interior Design needs to be so much more than a "Trend" or 28 days in February. Representation is so important and as an African American woman your content is such a gift.

Heyy, I’ve been watching your videos for some times now but I still have a question which may be a bit dumb to ask but, do you know any affordable colleges/universities that have interior design majors in New York?
@SandySaintilus3 жыл бұрын
New York has some of the best design schools! I do know they can be expensive though. Have you ever looked into doing a certificate program to get you started? They're much cheaper.
