Getting a Matchmaking Error When You Try to Play Zero Builds Tournament in Fortnite? Here's a Fix

How to fix Matchmaking Error in Fortnite when you try to play Zero Build Tournament.
So after playing one game in the playstation zero build cup, I got this error message..
" An account on this machine has already played in this event in a different matchmaking region. Any attempts to circumvent the region lock will result in a penalty to your account. "

Im playing oce duo cash cup and after the first game i had that issue, and when i try to go on na central it would say 'no tournament '

My guess is OCE must rerouting to another region on that side of the world... Try checking fortnites offical twitter accounts or the patch notes to see if that is the case... Sorry i can't be of more help but I really only keep up on the info for north america

That is odd... This video is only for north america tho so i doubt it would help you if you switched to NA Central... Maybe check fortnite's offical twitter accounts and see if they are rerouting players from OCE to another server for ranked... They said Na East and Na West will be rerouted to NA Central for zero build ranked this season ... maybe they are pushing OCE ranked to another server closer to you... Hopefully you can figure out a solution, I wish i could be of more help but I'm not up on the info for other parts of the world unfortunetly

If your worried about the msg saying you will get penalized my advice is dont risk it... Theres always another tournament ... theres also sometimes another round to try to qualify too on some tournaments... Just make sure before you play the first game of the next tournament you switch your region to NA Central before you start playing.. Once you play one round of a tounament your no longer allowed to switch to a different region during that session ... alot of times players will play on a different region because there duo partner is in a different part of the world.

Agreed... it sucks to loose a fight because your opponent lagged out in the middle of it cause your forced to play on higher ping ... but what can ya do other than complain to epic games on twitter

People play on a different region alot of the times if there partner is in a different part of the world for example ... Once you play one match in a tournament... your not allowed to switch regions ... If your worried about the msg saying you will get penalized .... my advice is to wait for next tournament , and just remember to switch to NA Central before playing the first match ... so you won't get the msg or have to worry about it

I did the same first playstation cup this season when i figured this out and posted this video .... I have not had any problems with my account at all... With that being said if your worried about it... don't play more... and just remember to switch to NA Central before you play a match in the next tournament

Yea that is a huge problem.... the lag ... Im not sure what epic games was really thinking with this change... Players who live in NA Central are likly to have an advantage over everyone forced to play on Central who are from the west or east ... While i get they are trying to fix que times etc... I really dont think this change is yhe solution... I'd rather wait for a game personally then loose due to lag ..
