To deny entry because of past criminal convictions is a violation of your human rights.

I was arrested around 30 years ago, and circumstances of my crime, was down to myself being depressed. Plead guilty in court, and was remorseful, and fined £500. Now 30 years later, in full time employment, and have 20 yrs with my employer. Im now a different person, that person in my youth has gone, and hopefully will be going to the usa next year. Now all i need is to get my visa approved, and allow me to travel

Just to let everyone know a friend went to usa with esta visa, was sent back to uk as he ticked on esta he has no convictions this conviction was in 1994... Washington saying that he has a conviction but the system does not state what type it is... so he was denied admission sent back. 2 years ago he went to embassy for non immigrant visa b1,b2 visa, with ACRO police certificate he was refused due to no family ties... 2018 September he applied again, with all the docs including strong family ties... which was granted...
@corzae855911 ай бұрын
I’m unsure what to tick on that because the question says have you been convicted of inflicting serious harm to someone or their property and I would say no I have not. But I have a common assault on my record which is the least serious of all assault and on on page I saw that common assault is where the injuries aren’t serious but I don’t know what constitutes serious. What do you think? It’s really stressful

Always wanted to visit the U.S, recently got done on a weapons charge “drug” driving and possession of cannabis. The irony is I’d never operate a vehicle whilst drunk unlike many people I know. I’d literally had a smoke 3 hours before driving out, and the weapons charge was for a few knives in my car🤦♂️ Seems crazy to think my dream of visiting America is more then likely shot due to these sorts of “crimes” what a shame.

why wasn't my fieancee gave the chance to interview?? while applying for a B visa, s he could come into america and aid me in preparing to pack and ship my household items to the Netherlands, and ready my home for sale, i have a extremely difficult spinal injury, and a dutch IND residence permit, he was dismissed as if a ghost was applying for a B visa. we've had a relationship for over 24 years, our son died at birth and he's never got to stand where his ashes were scattered. 23 years ago he was on his way over, a overzealous customs agent called my sister, she is mentally unstable, and disabled for this reason. the customs agent called her, as I was on a 2 hr drive to the airport when a MSP customs agent called our home..naturally my sister had no idea what to say. the customs agent asked a MENTALLY CHALLENGED adult if I were to marry my boyfriend. she of course said yes thinking that was the right thing to say...land lines were the communication method before cell phones were popular and that one call sent him home. The FACT my sister was clearly mentally challanged and baited by the customs officer who actually laughed in the face of my boyfriend /long term partner while he was to arrive before the birth of our son only adds to the pain and battles we face. Aprox 7 yrs ago he spent 6 months in dutch prision, his crime was giving a ride to a friend who was selling drugs. because the friend was in my fieance car he was charged to..Tho he had no idea the "friend" had a backpack of drugs. he's not been in any trouble and had advanced in the amount of diplomas in his line of work rapidly. when he went to Amsterdam for his "interview" he wasn't gave an interview, just a paper saying he had no reason to return... and viewed as an immigrant not visitor. which was false on many levels. I don't want to be married just to have him to the USA and help me move back to the Netherlands where he lives. where we have a small home. as I said I'm physically disabled with a spine injury, my hardware is pulling out of my spine an I've had to pack and ready my house for sale alone...causing way too much pain and now a medical issue. the subjective opinion of the clerk who helped him...rather gave him a paper, while she was demanding more coffee from a helper inside the department. she ignored him was extremely rude, not at all professional, self important and righteous, a horrible reputation for Americans to be judged by. I understand why we have a bad rep around most countries even our allies! he went in with each and every paper organized and in a binder. was truthful, well dressed and is very intelligent and professional. he was not gave a chance. or looked at! he explained that no eye contact was made and she showed him away with a wave of her hand. what I keep seing is that an interview must take place. he was not granted a interview. if anyone has any insight or advice as how to proceed it'd be greatly appreciated. Time is ticking before winter...I'm slowly turning around to the worst side of my spinal disease. There I'm not subjected to CDC laws as I am here and doctors willing to accept me as a patient. I have EU insurance, a doctor there, a home. all I need is his help to move. I don't think our government looks at any situation with eyes wide open. I can enter the Netherlands with ease, to a point...but God forbid the truth of a Dutch citizen ever see my home or worse yet, our only child's place of rest.

And I require a work place within the US to sponsor me am I correct? Thanks mate
@denysivanov33643 жыл бұрын
there is exception in law for one small offense. With two you probably need lawyer consultation and waiver from US government. Two offenses is a problem (unless they are traffic violations), your case is complicated.

@@filthiestcurriedsausageini2625 I'm not a lawyer, but in law (and in FAM( foreign affairs manual) they say that there is exception for only 1. @@denysivanov3364 I don't think I would be denied as long as I'm honest, maybe a better option for me would be to open a business in area of employment and take on US citizens full time so it would be an unviable option to deny permanent residence when I have a business to run in the US and apply through EB5 option, perhaps?

Just do what you can do, their are a few things to try and eventually should work. @joeking87896 жыл бұрын
First, if you're a middle aged housewife - Why are you out getting into altercations with bouncers and arrested? Second, It's so obvious you've watered down this story, given your demeanour already I'm sure it went more like this; You were intoxicated, either a bouncer brushed passed you or you brushed past the bouncer. Then, you were either, requested to leave the premises as you were intoxicated, or your self righteous manner took exception to this simple accident and you became hostile, either way resulting in you assaulting someone just doing their job. Third, you shouldn't worry about the U.S. for now, instead be appreciative you still have all your teeth, from what you have described this bouncer had every right to drop you like a sack of potatoes... Get some class...

@@louisk5171 Canada is another country, he is talking about US. US consular officer can give you the visa because there is exception in the law for one (only one, not two!) charge for small amount of cannabis, plus you have to show that drugs are in the past + you have to be good in another aspects. Another drug related convictions for USA are lifetime ban! Overall you should be very honest with any consular officer and say them that you have this charge and say truthfully about details if they ask. PS: Im not a lawyer but from the news I heard that in Canada cannabis is legal so probably you should't have any problems with Canada visa, you should say that you have been charged for cannabis in Japan (you have criminal record) (if you hide it will be lie and it will create problems for you, you can't do it) and they most probably will give you the visa because in Canada cannabis is legal, so you have to show them your criminal record to show your honesty but for them it should be clean! Good luck.
