Mini Motorways Part 8 - the most spaghetti city I’ve ever put together comes in clutch. My Manila run has everything - private motorways, spaghetti roads, motorways as bridges, and more.

I've heard some people keep a spare motorway to save emergency situations. If there is anywhere with cars in the garage, you can bring them straight to the problem area

not sure how practical this would be to actually implement, but itd be nice if there was a way to exchange all those extra roads you end up accruing by the end of the run into more useful things in the game. like, you could spend 50 roads to become a new motorway or something. i guess a downside would be that it makes the game easier in the late end, but after all the planning it takes to get there id wager the player deserves it

At the beginning of each week you sacrifice 10 roads for a roundabout or traffic lights and 20 for a motorway, so maybe something like that could be done instead just in the middle of the week

Imagining a budget. Every week, you get 30 monies. Roads cost 1 money, motorways costs 20 monies, rundabouts cost 10 monies, trafic lights cost 5 monies. And to add difficulty, while they can be moved after being purchased, they cannot be sold or removed. Only roads can be sold and removed. Edit: Bridges/tunnels would cost 5 monies to start and an extra two monies per bridge/tunnel tile.

Exactly, I had a god Rio run, but I only got 2 fucking motorways at 2200 points and I died, I just didn't have enough of them to get my cars where they needed to be.

Challenge idea: everything must be horizontal or vertical. No diagonal roads. Other challenge idea: Everything MUST be connected together into one large grid.

It'd be awesome is Mini Motorways had a districts mode so structures spawned next to their colours, so you don't have so many crossovers. An optional, easier mode basically, because I'd love to just have networks of roads I can hook new neighbourhoods into, it'd be satisfying I think

That's crazy, I thought this map was terrible and I just got so lucky with the layout to get an over 9000 score (9495), but then I saw that you got 7451, so maybe it's a good map.

You probably could've connected the rightmost dark blue houses to the panicked businesses in the top by connecting a road to the top-right dark blue business. There were some unused dark blue houses down at the bottom. Overall great run though!

I think if he had isolated 5 dark blues from the left side for left dark blue, nixed the roundabout, then sent the rest across motorway 4 then he easily could’ve broke 10K

When you’re trying to build bridges to go far distances, why not just build the bridge all the way through the river and minimize the roads you use?

I think that for every bridge tile you place, it also uses a road tile, but I’m not sure though. Edit: yes it does use roads.

You should use traffic lights in the late game when you dont have enough space for roundabouts as the traffic lights speed up traffic too
